“Good value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012 via mobile

Initially, the metropol was hard to find if walking from the port. However, once we knew our way around, this hotel was in a good location between the old town and port. The rooms were big and beds soft. Service was friendly. There were several international tv stations. This hotel isn't 5 star but offers a pleasant stay in Tallinn at reasonable prices.

The hotel have a central location between the harbour area and the Old Town, it's situated in the Rotermani Quarter. The rooms are big and have a big bathroom. The waterpressure in the shower is good. The cleaning service is good also..

I had quite a pleasant stay here: the breakfast was quite a usal hotel breakfast bot ok and filling for me. Tha laundry service was excellent! I didn't try the restarant or the bar so can't say anything about them. The hotel is located in a central area and that means there are some noise, but I have slept well so far, it might be different in

But one thing.he hotel could improve is the service in reception, as a guest it would be nice to get a Good morning in the morning, especially if you stay for some days. I also got an impression that some of the staff and some of the guest are talking about other guests, both inside and outside the hotel, and I wouldn't call that service.. So all in all this is a good hotel with value for money, but I would not probably stay here again because I 'm feeling that some are talking "bad" about other persons.

The Metropol is close to the Old Town of Talinn and very close to the harbour. Our group consisted of Adults, teenager and young children. We had two family rooms. The rooms were spacious, clean and adequate for our needs. I would have liked a kettle in the room but we were able to purchase one cheaply at the supermarket. The hotel had a supermarket near by at the entrance to the harbour and restaurants were within close walking distance. The hotel is well situated for sightseeing in Talinn and for access to ferries. My only complaint was the noise from the street at night it was impossible to sleep. The weather was very warm during out stay and the bedrooms did not have air conditioning. We were promised a fan but did not receive it so we had to leave the window open for air. The noise at the entrance to the hotel went on until the early hours and the hotel staff or security did not do anything about it.
The breakfast was all inclusive and it was very good. It would have suited our needs very well but we didnt get a good nights sleep during our stay.

My son and I stayed ther a few nights in June 2012. The hotel did live up to our expectations. The first room we got had no air conditioning and faced inside. We went back to the front desk and were able to change to a new room with air, even with a full hotel. The room was nice and had everything advertised on-line. The best thing was the location. We sailed in from Helsinki on a ferry and the hotel was only about 3 blocks away. Old Town was right across the street and in the 3 Baltic countries, Old Town is where it's at. Also near shops and supermarket. Airport is about a 10 minute taxi ride and there is pubic transportation to airport also. The staff was very cooperative with us on changing rooms under the circumstances. They were very nice and helpful. There were several all night bars in the area and can be noisy at times but that didn't bother us. We would return.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room, and request air conditioning if in the summer months.

We paid only 56 eur per night in July for double room with breakfast. The hotel is well located near Old Town with walking distance from the port. The taxi to/from the airport takes only 10 min and costs 7 euros. The hotel offers any special but a good breakfast, big empty fridge and location. The room was quite untidy, reduced and it has not AC, so the room temperature was quite warm.

But if you won´t expect any especial, it will be worth of small money.

Tallinn itself is a very charming and cozy town for a short break! And if you get bored of Tallinn due to any reason (I quess you not) and if you have not been to Helsinki, take a day trip there:)
It takes only 2 ours by boat.

I stayed in the Hotel Metropol between june 4th and june 8th.2012.This hotel is very easy to find.Simply get on the airport shuttle bus pay 2 euro and the driver will tell you to get off at bus stop no 7.Walk across road there is Hotel Metropol. The hotel is located in an former warehouse/industrial area the buildings of which have been turned in to hotels/shops/restaurants.It is a 10 minute walk to old town/ferry harbour. The downstairs decor of the reception/restaurants/bars are modern and of a high standard.Staff a little reserved but VERY helpful. My room 5601 overlooked the old town was kept exceptionally clean and tidy/large/hot efficient shower.Ate in the restaurant for breakfast which is a help yourself to sausages/eggs/cereal/fresh fruit salad etc.I also ate in the restaurant for one evening meal had duck delicious and inexpensive. The Metropol restaurant is far far better than the rated "alter ego"restaurant nearby.Would have ate in the hotel restaurant every night but wanted to try other restaurants/bars in old town.Beware when you ask hotel for a taxi that a "pirate" taxi is not parked outside pretending to be your taxi.As an example my taxi (official)to airport was 6.50 euro "pirate"taxi wanted 30 euro.I had no problem with noise from karoke bar as it is not used until weekends.Highly recommend the Hotel Metropol.

Room Tip: Do not be put off by reserved manner of some staff. For realy cheap eats/drinks try "kompressor...

For the price, this proved to be a decent hotel right on the edge of the old town. Although the hotel is behind some other buildings, it was still really straight forward to find - about 5 mins from the airport bus. The room was large, clean and comfortable... fantastic if you like the retro look too! The breakfasts were decent - typical Scandinavian fare. We sat in the bar a couple of times and it always seemed chilled.. the karaoke bar was louder, but you only noticed it when you walked in, The hotel offered guests use of the sauna in the morning, split into female and male times. It never really seemed busy and was a nice was to wake up before breakfast.

As other reviewers have noted, the location is really the winner here... just outside the old town, so cutting down on price, but a few minuets and you are there. The ferry terminal is also just a few minuets away, which is also a bonus for early morning ferries to Helsinki!
