“Convenient location to all of Old Town & More”
Reviewed January 8, 2012

Ive given 4 stars for Metrpol due to the location, affordability, having a fridge in the room, available parking and general standard of the rooms which I thought were more than acceptable.

I booked a bargain deal with easyjet and got the last room with a sauna. Ive never had a sauna in my room while travelling and it was very nice to come home after the cold of outside and enjoy it. It gave a very Scandinavian feel to things.

I had no problem with Wifi, I could connect constantly during my 6 day stay. The bar was always open for hot or cold drinks and the reception team and general staff were very helpful and all spoke excellent English.

Apart from the lift being a bit slow, I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay again.

We visited the hotel for 2 nights in December, the coice for the hotel was made because of the very cheap rate and its closeness to the old town. Unfortunately the room was not very clean. The rooms were pretty spacious and from the top floor it is possible to see the beautiful town. The staff of the Metropol Hotel was very friendly and the roomservice is very good, for me it is an impertinence to charge 4€ for roomservice if the food itself is only about 4€. Things like that really scare potential customers off.
I recommend the hotel Reval Park Hotel for a stay in Tallinn, the price difference is not too big but the quality is a lot better.

Metropol hotel has been our favorite place to stay in Tallinn for a long time. It s situated near the harbor and the old town, the breakfast is quite good and rooms are just fine for a short holiday. We made our reservation for new year´s celebration just a few days ahead and were lucky to get the last room. The hotel was fully booked but it didn´t matter. We always prefer non smoking rooms and asked for one also this time, but didn´t get one, probably because we made the reservation so late.

Room Tip: If you like sauna, it is definately worth paying a little extra to have one in your room.

I visited here with my significant other and a three-year-old kid for two nights. My spouse had car with, so free parking, cheap price and location near harbor were reasons why to choose this site. This was really clean hotel and beautiful place - we saw old town castles right from our window. It was quiet and cosy feeling at the hotell, breakfast was tasty and good. Everything was quite ok for us, despite the friendliness of staff. I did not get any smile of them, either none of us. It was quite disappointment to us, wondering if we did something wrong? If this issue had been good, this hotel would have gotten five stars from me.

Taken me a while to write about this break for my wife's birthday, but due to work commitments I have only just found some time to give a bit of feedback,

After going to Prague, Budapest and Bulgaria in the last 5 years,I thought Tallin might be a good choice for a break. Wrong!

Old Tallin is a very nice, but everything there is rip off (prices) - average price for a main course £10 - 15, beer - £4 - 5 for 0.4 litre,

Found a good place around the corner from the hotel called the Police station where prices were more acceptable but still expensive by British standards - about 15% cheaper than antwhere else.

We stayed at the Hotel Metrepol which was situated half way between the old town and the ferry terminal. (about 7 -10 mins either way) Not a bad hotel - very clean and a very comfortable bed.

Went to Helsinki on the ferry - cost about £19 return - nice city, very clean but very expensive!

Would I go again?

No - not at that time of year again because it was pretty cold.

Basic accommodation , a plain and simple room. No A/C. A good breakfast buffet which may or may not be included in the price. Close to the old town.
