“Fairytale”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

Most tourists wander around the inside old town and miss the wonders that edge the town. The walls are intact in quite a few places with rondavel roofs on towers, gardens linking down to the moat, and renovated parts that you can climb and explore for minimal cost. It really is worth exploring away from the crowds.

“Incredible”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

It's amazing that so much of the town wall and the towers is intact. We have visited the Old Town in both Riga and Vilnius and Tallinn's Old Town is by far the most impressive. At each turn you see a part of the looming wall or a tower and you can imagine what it must have looked like hundreds of years ago. Great for taking pictures and getting a feel for the medieval period it was built in.

“Really interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2013

I spent a lot of my time following the Town Wall, taking photos and it gave an idea of what Tallinn was like hundreds of years ago. I didn't climb any of the towers but it was good to get photos of 3/4 of the towers in shot. The weather wasn't favourable whenever I walked round, actually quite poor on my final day - torrential rain! but still a piece of medieval history I've not really experienced anywhere outside of England.

“High Light”

The town wall is an excellent place for pictures especially if you are interested in a possible enlargement. If the sun is shining it was the best of the pictures we took. Very memorable

“Interesting but needs to be cleaned up!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

We visited Tallinn for a day on a cruise. We climbed the three towers (Nunna, Sauna and Kuldjala) and walked along the short area of the wall that links them. It only cost 4 Euros for a family and it ok but it is very dirty - pigeon droppings everywhere. You really only need climb one tower as there is no explanation nor much difference between any of them. With young children I think I'd skip it altogether as the stairs are steep and the handrails feel grubby at best, as it was I made my whole family scrub their hands clean when we left! Shame with a little investment it could be a nice attraction.
