I have been at this hotel several times of which at least twice with a big group for attending bachelor parties. Location of the hotel is very good - everything needed for a bachelor party is nearby and even a semi-large shopping mall is opposite the hotel.
The combination of a ferry trip and this hotel is also a convenient option. Walking distance from the ferry terminal, if you don't mind walking for 10-15 minutes.
Rooms, that we had, are quite small with only the basic amenities but otherwise they are ok. We did not spend too much time inside the rooms. Breakfast was good enough for a full-night partygoers.
A bit pricey but otherwise good hotel for this type of travel.

Service was average Estonian, ie a bit on the rude side. Hotel is huge and the corridors look like they've been designed in the soviet times.

Room was very basic, though it had plenty of space. An annoying detail was that the curtains were not tall enough to cover the windows-letting light in during the night.

we travel a few times every year and we booked a delux twin room well it was clean but to call it a delux room is a little over the top , the staff and the breakfast were very good but the room not , its a shame the room was not very good as the other things are fine and the hotel is close to the old town

Tallink City is quite new hotel, but it's quite basic hotel. Maybe I expected little bit more for my stay here. Rooms is ok, but there isn't nothing special. Location is excellent in city center. Breakfast was also nice.

I did not expect much from the hotel, I just hoped it would be good enough for staying one night. The location is great, within a walking distance from the harbour, next to the Viru center shopping mall and only few minutes away from the old town.

We went to the hotel straight from the ferry in the morning and a friendly man at the door told us immediately that the hotel had been full the night before and there was absolutely no chance to get a room before 3 p.m. (that's when you're supposed to get a room anyway). We could leave our baggage there without any hassle which was just what I had hoped for.

When we came back just before 3 p.m. the receptionist told us that they had a special offer and we could upgrade our standard room to a junior suite for only 20 euros (normally 40 euros). I had already pictured the drunk, noisy Finns and Swedes shouting on the corridore in the middle of the night so an upgrade was more than welcome.

The junior suite on the 10th floor was big and nice. The view was great. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were huge and soft. It was quiet and I really enjoyed that part of the stay. However, the con of the 10th floor was bad water pressure which made taking a shower a bit difficult.

Breakfast seemed to be a slightly better version of the breakfast buffet on the Tallink ferries. We had it during the last hour which looked really busy. I believe that the staff did their best in keeping up with the pace but still things did not go smoothly. There was always something missing: coffee, milk, juice, salami, Karelian pies, bacon, even glasses and knives and so on. Sometimes you could find what you were looking for elsewhere (there were at least two spots for coffee or juice), sometimes you just had to wait and sometimes nothing happened, for example, no Karelian pies for me this morning. By the way, we were not told at the reception where breakfast was served but the place was easy to find anyway.

I was left with mixed feelings. I liked the location of the hotel and the room, the staff was just as friendly as you might expect in Tallinn but the breakfast could have been nicer.

I stayed there during my first trip to Tallinn and this hotel made me fall in love with the city as the building was in the city centre. The exterior is beautiful and grand, the interior seems to be modest but quite stylish. I was very satisfied with my room (9th floor), it was big enough, I liked the view and the bathroom seemed just perfect. I did not pay for the stay by myself but I checked the prices and they really do justice for the quality. The breakfast was OK, the service appeared to be great as well. Would definitely stay there again!
P.S. If you are a young female who travels solo, be aware of the fact that you will meet lots of Finnish men and will not feel too comfortable in a packed elevator :)
