“Bit of a gimmick, but very good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

A special little medieval taste. Elk soup and a dark beer served in clay pots. A fun, dark little setting that's well decorated. The service is different, but very entertaining! Very cheap too

“One of the best things in Tallinn”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

This is a very nice small restaurant situated in the heart of Tallinn, near the Town Hall. The architecture, as well as the furniture and cutlery are medieval. The waiter (who prepares also the dishes) is very kind and plays well her role of a medieval character. She speaks English perfectly.
The dishes are very good and tasty. We ate some pastries filled with carrots, apples and meat and drank hot wine.
The atmosphere is great. Everything for only 6 euros.

“Medieval experience at a Medieval price!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

This place has a average beer at a very low price (dark beer and blond beer alike)
Food is very tasty and anything you order from the elk soup to the pies are just great and an amazing low price!
The experience of being in a medieval tavern with medieval music and setting as well as waitresses in costume and character was just great!
We met some nice people there and all because of the tavern atmosphere of the place!
If you can't afford a meal at OldHanse or other medieval like restaurants in Tallinn this is the best place to go then!

“Delicious elk soup!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

Loved this place sooo much, used to go there to eat every day. Everything they serve is delicious: elk soup, sausages, pies, mmm.. :P and the prices are really affordable. The interior and national music are impressive as well :)

“Amazingly unique!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

I've never been anywhere like this - unique little restaurant right at the front of the town hall. Elk soup, little pies and great sausages. Wine, beer and your food all given to you in clay cups and you collect from the ladies when you go in. Very mediaeval, dimly lit and excellent prices. We went on two different lunch times. Would like to go for an evening as we walked past on the Saturday and could hear music so I would imagine it's really good for an a weekend evening.
