We had an reservation to another hotel (the same chain of hotels), but they had overbooked and send us to this hotel. There was a remodeling going on and it happened till midnight. There was no AC, just "Central AC" and the room was really hot. The bar street noise kept us awake till four in the mourning. After that a couple next room came back from the hotel and the paper thin walls made sure that there was no sleep that night. They gave us an upgrade on our room, but the superior room was just a regular room with a sofa. The whole floor carpet was filthy and the room was stuffy. The breakfast was a joke. They run out of coffee and coffee milk before the service was over. When I asked for more coffee, the waiter seemed upset, but gave more coffee. The desk staff was very nice.

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Vana Wiru. The location is excellent and the hotel very clean and comfortable with friendly staff. The restaurant was closed for renovation but breakfast was taken in the Vana Wiru pub which could be crowded at times. The only downside was that there is no air conditioning as stated on their website but we were given a fan for our room. We would return to this hotel again and would recommend it .

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard - this area is very quiet with lovely views over the rooftops of the old town

Great location, nice place to stay for a night or two. No aircondition so rooms are quite warm, a little too much indeed. Ask for the room with citywiew, The bar is overpriced, just a few minutes walk you can find better and cheaper restaurants.

The location is ideal, and driving to the hotel with own car was a small adventure itself. Room (320) was small, but tidy and the view was ideal, if you like brick walls. On another hand, the room was quiet, except in the morning when the garbage was collected. A standard breakfast, pickled mushrooms were a plus. Personal in reception was friendly, I would stay another time in this hotel any time.

A very nice hotel right in the heart of old town. Staff are very well trained, polite and care for all your needs. The hotel is very tidy and clean through out. The bonus is the pub on street level attached to hotel. Great food and nice place to sit and entertain or be entertained for an evening. A little pricey if booked last minute, but if booked in advance I think its very good value.
