We had booked the Baltic Hotel which is a nice querky old town hotel but when we arrived we were told that the AC was down and that they had instead given us a free upgrade to a junior suite across town at their sister hotel the Vana Viru.
Initial impressions were a little disappointed as this is quite different, clean and clinical - some would say lacking character. Aside from this is was spacious, clean, reasonably modern and had a sauna in our room...nice touch. As a free upgrade we cannot complain - I don't know what the going rate would be so can't comment on value for money but it is very ell placed for convenience.
The breakfast was nothing more than ok, a reasonable selection but this was definitely a 'fill a hole meal' not one to be savoured and enjoyed. We didn't eat here as the restaurant was under restoration but there are many other fine restaurants.in Tallinn...why limit yourself to where you are staying!
All in all very good, but wouldn't rush to book againMore
