“Great hotel a few steps away from the center”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

This is a very good option for those who do not want to sleep in the usually crowded center of Tallin. Though being not so big, the rooms are comfortable and cosy. The beautiful city center is just five minutes walk. One of the strength is the breakfast buffet, various and abundant with dishes for every taste from savory to sweet. The staff speaks perfectly english and is always ready to help. There is also a spa but we did not take advantage of it.

Although not particularly special in design, I found the rooms to be spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bathroom, with its large jacuzzi tub and selection of organic spa products for purchase (at a couple euros a piece) was a really nice feature. Additionally, our visit included a trip to the hotel spa. The spa staff was welcoming, caring, and thorough. My boyfriend and I left feeling like a million bucks. Breakfast buffet was more than adequate, with american breakfast classics that are a rare find on my travels through Europe. If you don't mind being a few minutes from old town and want a solid choice for hotel or spa at a good value this could be the place for you!

Nice location near city, and what a nice city I might add. Very interesting history and building all encased in the city wall. Hotel room was a little run down but taking it on face value the price was good. The furnishings weren't bad. Very quiet. Service wasn't anything to write home about though.

Very good location, the hotel is modern and comfortable, good choice for breakfast and friendly staff. We stayed in ZEN room and we had a coffe and tea maker in the room, but no complimentary water. The room was quiet, we didn't hear any neighbors.

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night family break in Tallinn (2 adults 1 child).

Check in was easy even though we arrived later in night, we upgraded to the Zen room with Jacuzzi for a small fee.

We were on the 3rd floor facing the main road. First impressions were excellent, room was furnished to a very high standard and the room facilities were very good.

-------

Top points about hotel:
- good value and location
- reception staff very helpful (organised a late checkout and free baggage storage after checkout)
- nice breakfast
- jacuzzi in zen room a must have
- good room facilities

Low points about hotel:
- little noisy facing the main road
- the window blind didn't block out all light
- restaurant fills up very quickly and need more family areas. Didnt see any bacon.
- poor room service food menu. I recommend to order a local pizza delivery

---------

Overall I was very happy with my stay and thought it was excellent value. Would book again next time in Tallinn.

The hotel is rated 4 stars but it deserves not more than 2.
It is welll advertised, however, so we felt a huge disappointment on our arrival.

The hotel is weary and both interior and exterior need a solid renovation. We were not impressed by its cleanliness stardards: window has been so dirty that we could hardly see through.

It is located on a noisy street and you can hear the noise through the closed window.

The neighborhood is shady. The distance to the old town is about 12 minutes walk.

Breakfast is ok and the internet is free - but it sums up to 2 stars.

Room Tip: avoid the rooms with a street view on lower floors due to the noice

Hello, thanks for you review.
I am sorry re the dirt situation on the outside of the building , we have has very unusual weather , plus degrees in December which is strange but also the slush and melting has caused problems for all buildings , we are constantly washing windows so I am sorry you caught us in between these cleanings.

The area is certainly NOT shady. We are in between the national library and the largest newest shopping mall in the centre of Tallinn the Kristiine centre , this is important to note for other readers. We have been continually awarded certificates for excellence by tripadvisor year on year , the hotel has been refurbished twice since 2008.
Many thanks for your positve comments re the breakfast and the free internet , which we consider to be a must for modern travellers.
regards
Paul

We were booked to stay two nights at this hotel only to be told upon arrival that a water pipe had broken and our rooms were unavailable. We were travelling with another couple and had booked two separate rooms of which neither was available.. The hotel was full of guests, and we were told to check in at another hotel, where we were given one room to share! They told us to return the next day after check-out time.. They had clearly double booked! Because of this moving of luggage and ourselves in the middle of the day, we were not able do do some of the activities planned for our stay.

We did have dinner at the hotel restaurant, though, and the food was absolutely marvellous! Highly recommended.
