“Beautiful hotel in an equally beautiful city.”

Been to Tallinn many times on a day visit whilst working in southern Finland but this was my first overnight stay.
The hotel is in a great location and manned by very friendly staff. Rooms are clean and the breakfast was more than adequate for my needs.
As for the lack of an elevator I really couldn't care less as the stairs perform their duty very well!
On a serious note if you have a mobilty issue you need to be aware of the fact there is no elevator.

Happy to recommend the hotel and would stay here again.

I loved this place. The hotel had an old fashioned charm but the rooms were modern and well appointed. The staff were wonderfully professional and sweet. And the location is perfect, just up the hill from the town square. Highly recommend.

We spent Christmas here and it was a perfect location for exploring the very small town of Tallinn. The front desk staff were nice and helpful and the included breakfast bar was good. Here's what I liked: 1) the location, 2) the room was nice, 3) the bed was nice, 4) it was pretty quiet at night but this may have been the advantage of being there in the winter. Here's what I didn't like: 1) there's no elevator so climbing steps up to the 3rd floor several times a day got old, 2) the shower had a half glass enclosure which means I was able to shower half of the bathroom floor every time, 3) the price is a little high.

Dear Guest,

Every feedback received from our guests is very valuable and so is yours, so I would like thank you for taking your time to tell us about your experience while staying at Hotel St.Petersbourg.

First of all thank you for the compliments as well as concerns shared. To better understand our position I would like to give you slight overview of why certain things are the way they are. Building of hotel dates back to 1850 and there is really not much we can do to make an elevator or extend the space of the bathroom. Building itself is a architectural masterpiece located in heritage protected area of old town. So any major changes like adding elevator or braking walls in bathroom area would not even be possible because of this fact. However adding separate shower cubical and bath tub in same area where at the moment its combined, would not allow comfortable movement for two people at the same time. So, I hope you may agree that this is the best option considering previously mentioned fact to maximize our guests comfort. Although we haven't faced guests dissatisfaction in regards to this matter before, I do understand that habits or taste may vary, and wanted to at least give you reason why separate shower area is not available in some of hotel rooms.

On top of all, Hotel St.Petersbourg is first hotel that has ever been opened in Tallinn and is still functioning as one. And due to fact that there is no elevator, is why our staff assists you with any belonging you might need to carry. However I wish we would have know in advance you would prefer to stay in lower floor to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Please accept our apologies for inconveniences caused.

We do hope you would give us a chance to accommodate you in future with the preferences stated in your comment above. I will forward your compliments in regards to service to our team, as I am certain will love to hear you have appreciated their efforts of you being looked after.

With best regards,

Mara Blaubarde

We were expecting a great stay, but other guests really ruined it. Drunk neighbours screaming in the corridors did not help us sleep. I had to finally go out and tell them to shut it. For an old house the walls seem quite thin.
In general, the room looked good, but the bed was short. The service was friendly. We were given a bag breakfast as we left early in the morning, but were surprised that there was no coffee available at 06.30. Yes, there were some instant coffee packs in the room (not something you expect from this quality off a room).
It might have been an off day, but we were not very impressed.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience while staying with us. I was very saddened to hear your night sleep was disturbed by neighbors next door. Please rest assured that we are doing our best to eliminate any disturbances there might be to avoid such situations now and in future. Thank you once again for informing us about such incident.

And in regards to early breakfast coffee, I only wish we would have had another opportunity provide the coffee to your liking. So far our guests have been very pleased with the coffee machine provided in the room and would like to advise to contact me or front desk directly to clarify any preferences in future. Despite the incidents encountered, thank you very much for the compliments in regards to our friendly staff as they like to hear their efforts have been appreciated. We do hope that you will give us another opportunity to better serve you in the future and would like to wish you wonderful holiday season filled with love and joy!

Sincerely Yours,

My husband and I stayed for 3 cold snowy nights and had a great time. The hotel could not be better - the location is perfect, 2 minutes from the Town Hall Square; the service was friendly and helpful; the public areas nicely furnished and dressed for Christmas; our room was attractive and fully equipped, with a comfy bed, tea & coffee making in the room, lovely robes, and a beautiful bathroom. The breakfast was excellent with great cold dishes, fruit, and cereal, and a choice of hot food made to order. There are lots of extras, including an iPad in the room, turndown service with complimentary water and chocolates, and great toiletries in the bathroom. The staff were lovely at all times and nothing was too much bother for them. If you are staying in Tallinn, you could not stay in a better place.

Room Tip: There are no elevators so, if stairs are a problem, ask for a lower floor room

For our 20th anniversary the wife and and I chose to go and explore Estonia as it was a Country we had not visited, and its Capital Tallinn or as it was called Ravel. It is reputed to be the oldest Capital City in Northern Europe and since gaining independence again is one of the youngest Countries. The St Petersbourg manages to incorporate old world charm with all the modern comforts. Our room 107 was a deluxe superior and although just off reception was never subjected to noise or any disturbance.

Kasper who checked us in could not have been more helpful and it was nice to have an actual key rather than the overused swipe car. It made a nice change to hand it in and request it upon return which thus prompted the waning interaction between guests and staff.

The bathroom has underfloor heating, robes and slippers with upmarket toiletries. The room contained a flat screen, (not used) a dvd player (not used) and an ipad. The bed was large and very comfortable with 2 pillows or varying softness to give you a choice, and to top things off a fur throw.

Breakfast was served in the downstairs restaurant and the staff here are really attentive to all your needs and doubled up afterwards as a well know eating place for everyone in Tallinn. The hotel is located under the high towns walls in the old towns in has a well just outside that local legend has stories for.

Being located in the old town means nothing is very far away and can be walked from the hotel. This hotel ranks as one of the best I have ever stayed at and it very much warrants it's status, you maybe like me who always looks at the reviews and take a pinch of one and a pinch of another. If you choose to book this hotel (you would be wise to) then you will not be disappointed in anyway.

The sauna is free until 11.30 but give the reception half an hours notice before use

When you exit the airport just stand at the taxi stop (do not cross the road to the second island), these are the licensed taxi's it will cost you 9 euros to the hotel for 2 people.

Room Tip: Ground floor for those that cannot manage stairs as there is no lift, but that would spoil this hote...
