“An excellent break.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

We haven't stayed at many hotels before where all the staff are so friendly, helpful and professional. We stayed for five nights over Easter and both enjoyed it thoroughly; the room was wonderful, with atmosphere and comfort, if a little warm. We enjoyed the breakfast every morning, the service and quality were faultless.
We ate downstairs in the Kuldse Notsu Korts restaurant (where breakfast was served) on two evenings and at both meals the food was perfect and good value too.
The hotel is located in just about the best spot for a long weekend of relaxing and exploring the city, being a matter of yards from the Town Hall Square and Toompeea. The medieval city is very compact but there's a lot to see there, with narrow winding cobbled streets, lanes and courtyards. We also ate at Vanaema Juures, Olde Hansa Waggehus, Peppersack and had the gorgeous Elk soup and hot wine at the Three Dragons. All very good and no complaints.
All in all it was one of the most enjoyable Eastern European trips we've had.

Room Tip: If you're at the back of the hotel you may enjoy the music from the beer hall if you have an ear...

We stayed here over Easter weekend for 2 nights and were very happy with our decision to stay here. The hotel is in an absolutely perfect location with access to the Town Hall square within 3 minutes walk, the Toompea and Castle within 5-10 minute walk. The castle is on top of a hill and the walk entails walking on true cobblestone so it takes a bit longer and be sure to wear comfy shoes. The hotel is also right around the corner from the famous Pikk street and pretty much everything in the Old Town. Additionally, it is right across the street from the Beer House. We thought our room would be loud since the window was facing the Beer House, but it was the quietest hotel we've stayed in for quite some time. The restaurant Kuldse Notsu Kõrts which is located in the hotel serves a fantastic continental breakfast. There is a cold breakfast with meat, cheese, fish, cereals, yogurt, etc. They also have a warm breakfast that consists of an omelet with a variety of fillings, various types of eggs with sausage or bacon, porridge and pancakes. It's a must to have dinner at the restaurant as they serve amazing traditional Estonian food! And on a cold day, it's wonderful to just pop on downstairs in the comfort of the hotel for some hearty Estonian food!

The hotel room itself looked like it had been recently remodeled with modern furnishings. The bed was very comfortable, but the pillows were a bit too big. Although, when you lay on the pillows they end up squishing so much that they don't offer any support. The bathroom was my favorite part of the room :) The tile floors were heated and after walking around all day in cold weather, the floors were a little piece of heaven. The TV shows were in English with Estonian subtitles.

The hotel service was amazing. Each time we entered the hotel the receptionist and bus boy would greet us with a warm welcome. They held onto our luggage while we wandered around time waiting for our flight. And they called a taxi for us to bring us to the airport.

Overall this was an excellent hotel in an excellent location with excellent service. I highly recommend staying here and if I'm ever to return to Tallinn, this is where I'll stay. It's like a little piece of home away from home!

We stayed at Hotel St. Petersbourg for 2 nights. The rooms were adequate for the price and the hotel is nicely located in the centre of the old city. However, the service was very disappointing.
I told the receptionist that we would need to check out early the next day (before breakfast time). He said that was no problem and that they would prepare a take-away breakfast for us. We could even get a fresh coffee. I also asked him to phone a taxi that would take us to the bus station in the morning. When we got down early the next day no taxi was booked and no breakfast prepared. We were forced to leave late with empty stomachs. What a bad service!

A time travel experience with beautiful, imperial Russian style surroundings and outstanding service. (In this price range you seldom get your suitcases carried to the room and have your bed opened and slippers taken out for you.) A very friendly staff with good language skills. Exquisite yet cosy decor in the lobby and in the rooms, also fun Estonian country style downstairs restaurant / breakfast room. A fireplace in the lobby to defrost yourself after a cold winter day was sweet. Perfect location in the middle of Old town yet on a quiet street away from the noisiest bars. Good breakfast. An affordable boutique hotel to add a bit of luxury in your life. :)

Room Tip: The room on the 3rd floor was very quiet.

Just stayed at the St Petersberg Hotel in Tallinn as part of our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebrations, and we are absolutely delighted that we chose this hotel.

I should preface my comments by stating that I'm hard to please - I'll only give credit where credit is due - but this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot.

The staff were fantastic, nothing too much trouble for them, they clearly take great pride in their job and customer service is paramount.

The room wasn't huge - but large enough - and the facilities were excellent.

It was the little touches that added to the overall quality though - from leaving a weather forecast in the room each day, to turning down the beds each evening, to providing an iPad free of charge for the duration of our stay and for opening the doors each time we left the hotel, all added greatly to the experience and the feeling of quality.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to travellers to Tallinn - right in the heart of the Old Town, literally 2 minutes from the Town Square.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful Eastern European city.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room overlooking the front of the hotel, which we thought may have been noisy - our f...

If you plan to stay in Tallinn over a weekend ensure you book early! We called the st Petersbourg on the off chance they had a spare room available.. Luckily they had a cancellation - a superior single room. We asked if this was ok (it was a queen size bed) and booked.. On arrival we were greeted by Stefan (I believe) who informed us that we had been upgraded to a studio..This made our day.. The hotel admittedly was a little over our budget. But I think I can honestly say it was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed.. For the location, the rooms, the food and especially all of the staff. It was snowing that day and night. christmas card perfect a memory that will always stay with us ! Thankyou
