“Weekend in Tallinn”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

We stayed at St Petersburg Hotel in Tallinn for 2 night. The location, breakfast and overall service
Was exellent. But the room - all though very clean - was extremely small. I think we ended up having a single room, because the bed was so narrow that we had hard time sleeping. We had reserved a superior room, but there was nothing superior about this. Actually the bathroom seemed bigger
than the bedroom. There was a welcome letter in the room for a gentleman, and when we asked about this from the reception, they seemed to be a bit confused, but did not do anything. It seemed that the room was originally reserved for a single person as it was a single room.

Room Tip: Check tuhat you really het what you reserved!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your note and compliments in regards to service overall and remarks of having very clean hotel rooms. Although I was saddened to hear you found our rooms very small, I have to mention that due to the fact that building hotel is located in goes back to 1850’s, some of our rooms are quite unique with the shape of the size they are having . Having said that, all our rooms are designed for double use, however some of our superior category rooms are a bit smaller then others.

And I do have to apologize in name of entire team for welcome card you found in your room with other guests name on it. Please except our extreme apologies and rest assured that strong measures have been taken into account to completely avoid such embarrassing situations in future.

We do hope that you will give us another chance to better serve you in future.

With Kind Regards,

We really liked this hotel. Excellent location in the old town near the town square. Great sized, comfortable room and good value for the price. Elegantly furnished and well stocked minibar and bathroom. Staff were excellent during our stay, at reception and elsewhere in the hotel. Good choice at breakfast, with a cold buffet and choice of hot food brought to table. Overall, a very welcoming yet professional establishment. Would highly recommend.

We arrived on a wet Sunday afternoon after an early flight from Liverpool , but our slight gloominess was dispelled by Jan and Mihkel. who made us feel welcome ,showed us to our room and made a very pleasant impression . Throughout our stay they were courteous ,helpful and made several useful recommendations which we followed up, particularly the day excursion to Helsinki . Helen ,in the breakfast room , had a warm and kindly manner ;. that and the large breakfasts got us off to a good start each day . The rooms are warm and quiet and we liked the additional small touches : a bottle of water , a chocolate nougat and the comfortable bed prepared for us each evening. Everyone at the Hotel was a model of service and courtesy And a final comment :the soaps ,shampoos . towels and bathrobes were luxurious extras

We have just stayed at St Petersbourg and the team were amazing. Pls forgive my spelling of Estonian names but Mihkel greeted us when we arrived and within 5 minutes we were checked in and he was helping us to plan our time in Tallinn.
Our room was above reception and although we had the occasional serenade of passersby on the way home late at night it was a good room. Not overly large but certainly larger than the average European hotel room. Good size bathroom although I still prefer a walk in shower and not a shower in the bath but that seems to be harder to find nowadays.
We visited the Estonian restaurant that is part of the hotel, I had the wild boar for mains and was impressed, and we had no complaints with the service. This same restaurant serves as the breakfast room. Good selection of herrings and other fish which my husband assured me was good quality. There was fresh fruit salad as well as two fruit compotes, lots of sliced meats and cheeses, breads and pastries and you could order from a choice of our different hot items.
Helen looked after us at breakfast and was very friendly and professional.
Didn't try the Russian restaurant but our tour guides told us it was one of the best Russian cuisine in Tallinn.
We would go back to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Our room was called a Junior Suite, room 204. I don't think I would have wanted to stay on the g...

Wow! What a wonderful experience I had at this hotel. The staff helped out with everything. I have never experienced such wonderful service. The rooms had quality fittings and were very homely. Fantastic location right in the middle of Old Town Tallinn. Many cafes nearby and the 'Pig' restaurant downstairs had hearty meals. Breakfast was also delicious.

Room Tip: No elevator so maybe lower floor for those who don't like stairs.

This hotel locates just 15 mins from the ferry terminal and 150m from old town square which was extremely conviniet to us. Rooms were in good condition, clean and well prepared/equipped with bathropes, drinks etc. Romantic visit is just what you like to have.

We have stayed in this hotel two or three times, and really, really enjoy it. The location is smack-in-the-middle of Old Town, but the rooms are quiet. This time we booked a "Deluxe" room and it certainly was worth the relatively small additional fee. Very spacious room with stylish decoration, so much so that you can actually spend some time in the room enjoying a bottle of wine or whatever - something that I very seldom have the patience to do. Usually the first thing is to get away from the hotel to a bar or restaurant etc. The personnell is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. We complemented the buffet offering with an omelette and pancakes which were great. Can warmly recommend. The only drawback is the lack of air conditioning in the room, but that is not an issue except during summer.
