This is where recent history was made, where almost half the Estonian people came together to stand up to the Soviets in "The Singing Revolution." It feels like standing on sacred ground to walk around the grounds, knowing what happened here.

The Song Festival grounds are supposed to hols over 75,000 people and the stage is supposed to hold 15,000. During the 1988 Singing Revolution the story goes that there were almost 300,000 people there. The grounds and stage do not appear impressive except for the scale on which the Russians built. The attraction is the story of the Revolution.

amazing place
went to see Robbie Williams take the crown concert and wow wasn't disappointed, and that's not just with the show.
so many eating and drinking points and at reasonable prices.
all food was being cooked fresh on coals, not a microwave in site.
pint of beer just 3euros.
the event was very well managed, roads closed after the concert to allow the 50,000 plus crowd to walk freely back to the town.
a very enjoyable nite and would differently go an see another event there

R.W. and 70 000 fans - it couldn´t be better! GREAT!
The acoustic is great and the view to stage can´t be better!
But be aware - when exciting, to the right you can find cabs, to the left, nice walk to town! But after 5 hours of standing/dancing - who wants to walk...

our Estonian guide told us that this is where the Estonians influenced their independence by holding folk-song ins and there was as a result no bloodshed
