Toompea Castle stands on top of Toompea Hill and is where the present day parliament is situated.. One tower still remains today but the parliament building took 2 years to complete and was opened in 1922. Today many crowds hang around the entrance to the parliament hoping to see political figures enter. The Estonian flag flies proudly over the entrance with the city's coat of arms below.

On the top of the hill above the old town centre is the Toompea castle, house of the Estonian parliament nowadays. It big, a medieval building rebuilt in 15th century. Wd had s look outside from the top and from the lovely park beneath it. Lovely pictures, interesting and it's worth a visit. Not sure if or when we can visit it from inside.

The Toompea hill and Castle are located near the famous Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and it’s also 10 minutes walking distance from the Old town main square.

We didn’t visit the building inside, and we saw there were English tours that you could book, but we won’t had enough time and we decided to walk around and check the beautiful views that this place has from Tallinn old town city and we think it’s a nice place to explore a little more if you have more time.

Recommended: Yes, the area has a beautiful view even if you don’t visit the places inside.

Tips:
- Comfortable shoes are recommended, since the pavement of the Old Town streets, in general, are made with paving stones.

On top of a hill called Toompea is located the Toompea Castle Dating to the 9th century, it now features several additions and refurbishments. The oldest part, dating to the 13th century stands at the southwestern edge of the castle hill and is sided by a Baroque building which now holds the country's parliament.
