This is the kind of town you want to get lost. Beautifull buildings, charming streets, lots of places to eat and drink.

The town strikes me as something in-between a family choice and nightlife city. The streets are filled to the brim with tourists during the day, but in the afternoon they vanish, making room for the nightlife.

Old city is certainly worth a visit, but be awate that iT is very turistic and busy. Take a walk to the higher part with the parliament for Nice views. I would not suggest a longer stay them just one day for Tallinn

After taking the boat from Helsinki we reached Old Town Tallin. It is definitely a nice day trip. It is a quaint little town with old world character. There are some lovely old buildings and a pretty square. It was nice to have a coffee in the square and just enjoy being in a unique place. You really only need about 2 hours to wander around.

We took the ferry from Helsinki, old town is about a 15 minute walk from the port. The streets are cobblestones and the buildings are quaint and go back to middle times. It is a fun way to spend a day and enjoy some good food at one of the many restaurants. Try ILL Drakkon and Old Hansa.

Very much enjoyed our visit which was greatly enhanced by taking advantage of the free guided walk from the tourist information office which are run on a regular basis.
