Owner description: This jumble of 14th- and 15th-century architecture with its medieval walls, needling spires and twisting, cobblestone streets is also the site of many of the city's important historic attractions and museums including the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, St. Catherine's Guild and the 15th-century Guildhall that now houses the History Museum.

Absolutely worth wondering through for several days! Quaint little shops, working artists' studios, thousand year old walls and cobblestones. Living history!

This is a cute little medieval town, I was able to walked around every where pretty much in 5 hours. I liked it, but It didn't take my breath away as I had been to two other important medieval towns (Carcassonne and Avila). I was more impressed by the 20th century buildings than the medieval ones. Stop by the largest orthodox church and if you get luck watch the mass. It was very touching for me although I am not cristian of any kind...

Drove from Alicante to Tarragona and then onto Girona for our Flight to Tallinn Estonia , 3 hours on ryanair flight and then a 5 min taxi ride to the Old Town , We spent 5 days here started with The Patarei Prison - very odd place a self guided tour of an abandoned ex soviet prison for 2 euro entrance fee , Id give it a miss reminded me of the Movie " Hostel "
The Seaplane Maritme Museum was right beside this place and worth a visit ,we boarded a decomissioned submarine and the maritime naval history excellent.
Took a daytrip to Helsinki 2 hour trip €90 for 2 adults 2 kids but not as expensive as Helsinki 1 small beer 1 glass of wine and 2 cokes for €25 euro ,,, ouch.
next day back in Tallinn We saw Robbie Williams at the Song Festival Ground we walked there from the old town 20 mins as traffic was worse , great show and venue . Saku beer drinkable ....? Went to a restaurant "Chicago 1933" themed 20s bar restaurant live music excellent service and food worth a visit , The kgb museum at The Viru Hotel is great the female tour guide we had was verygood ............maybe too good .... could be ex kgb she knew too much .overall so many things to do planning our return for new year .... highly reccommend going .

Of course this is the number one place to see while you're in Tallinn. You can spend 2 hours or more seeing old buildings and walking in old streets and don't forget to get an amazing view from the highest point there.

Take Rick Steves walking tour. Easy walk and informative.
Many restaurants right in the area.
Tallinn is a happy place and the people are all helpful and friendly. English is spoken by most, which makes it easy to get around.
