Our family went to Gianni for dinner and again the food was excellent. We have visited Gianni a few times earlier and the standard is as high as during our earlier visits. We started our evening by having a glas of Prosecco di Valdobbiabene by Le Colture, delicious! For starters our family members chose Carpaccio di manzo con tartufo nero, Vitello tonnato, and Carpaccio di salmone. Everyone was happy with their excellent starters. The only detail was that the Vitello tonnato was just a little to creamy but still very good. To drink with the meat starters, we had a bottle of Tuscan red wine, Le Volte by Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, a very good red wine. Our family member that chose the salmon carpaccio as starter chose a white wine, Pinot Grigio by Colmello di Grotta, very good dry white. For main course, most of us chose the Tagliata di manzo su rucola e balsamico. We asked fo medium but it came medium rare. Anyway, the meat quality was excellent so medium rare was OK. One of us had the Petto d'anatra all'arancio e balsamico, very good. For the main course we had the Tignanello red wine by Antinori, fantastic! To finish our dinner we had espresso and grappa, they have some very interesting grappas, we chose the Villa de Varda Trie Reserva, a fantastic grappa. All in all, a fantastic dinner and one of the best restaurants in Tallin!
