Description: Leib is run by two professional foodies - a chef and a sommelier. Having our own restaurant is a dream come true for both of us. Leib means black bread in Estonian and we have chosen it to be our name for a reason! Good old local black bread - fresh, warm, simple, and honest - it's what we, Estonians, grow up with and what we dream about when away. It's what we are, really. Good bread is always made with soul. We are passionate about sharing goodies from our homeland. We work with local farmers and fishermen to create delicious yet simple dishes. Since most of our ingredients are local, the menu is always seasonal. Less is more- therefore our menu is compact and constantly changing. Hand-made bread, coupled with foods made from natural, local ingredients is a true gastronomic delight. Leib - soulful casual dining!

Only time in my life sommelier took back opened botle after tasting wine himself. Did not even let us taste if it were good inaf for us. Service was exlent all the way. Food was perfectly made and even innovative, so there is no other choice than full points. My recomendations!

The restraunt is a little off the tourist route and ticked away from the majority of the eateries around the main old town and town square but well worth finding.
If it's quality you want, it's quality you are going to get! My beef fillet was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. My wife had an amazing roasted quail as a main course an even combined with an excellent starter and sweet each and drinks and coffee, was still only €64.00!
We highly recommend this restraunt and may well pay another visit before we leave.

This was the first restaurant we went to in Tallinn and it was both welcoming and friendly.

There are some real quality food courses on the menu. It is not extensive, more seasonal which is to be applauded, Excellent for Vegetarians, most places we tried had no concept of the word and would offer me chicken or fish!

Service wonderful - smiling and happy waiting staff who were unpretentious, there was a good mix of diners even for a Monday night,

Don't forget to check out the garden at the back - although I still don't understand why they have a statue of Sean Connery in there.

Really - check this place out. WONDERFUL.

We had a lovely evening at Leib Resto ja Aed. Service was attentive, fast, professional; we had a table at ground floor and we enjoyed the place. Food was excellent. Choice of background music matched the atmosphere. About the prices - some of the reviews considered the place to be expensive. Well, i had a welcome drink, starter, bottle of beer, glass of wine, main course, dessert, caffe latte (and additional plate of the local bread) for a little bit over 50€ and from my point of view it is a reasonable price considering place itself, quality of the food, service and attitude. Go for the same package somewhere in Sweden or Finland and you will feel the difference in prices. "Expensive" is a relative adjective.

I visited Leib Resto ja Aed last week in response to some very good reviews. I found them to be unreliable.
The staff were courteous and attentive but the establishment is overpriced and pretentious.
Several restaurants in the centre of the old town provide far better ambience, quality of food and value for money.
