“Vilnius feels like a country town....”

Vilnius is like a friendly town rather than a city. Very nice feel to the place. Always felt safe and welcome. Definitely going again.

“Living in the Middle Ages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

The old town of Vilnius Is one of the oldest, best preserved and largest in Central Europe. The main street is full of cafes, restaurants, and shops. We enjoyed Vilnius University very much and had a particular interest in old Jewish Vilnius. Before World War II, there were over 110 Synagogues in Vilnius. This community was destroyed by the Nazis. Unfortunately, there is limited evidence left of Jewish life here. Fortunately, Jewish life is still alive here. For a capital city, Vilnius is quite small and approachable, particularly the old center. English is widely spoken and most restaurants have English menus. Come to Vilnius for an interesting and enjoyable experience.

“Allow time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

Like a lot of cities with and old quarter you need to allow time for a stroll and to sit with a coffee or beer and people watch before moving on and having another cofee or beer at a different cafe.Chill time most important

Take a day to just wonder around - marvellous buildings, lovely little shops and good and cheap dining.
