The hotel offers fairly simple, but adequate accommodationat a very affordable price. You get good value for money. Location cannot be beaten - across fthe street from the railway station and central bus station, and the shuttle to Kaunas airport also leaves outside. From the railway station you can take a train to the airport for 80 Eurocents!!

Hotel is just opposite the railway station circle and close to the bus station, on the suburbs of the old town.

Following request in the booking form, our room was on the top floor at the end of the corridor with fantastic views over the old town.

Room itself was adequate for 2-3 stars, with a small bathroom. Hot water is desinfected and not drinkable. Grab a bottle from a shop in the railway or bus station.

Night sleep was quiet, but slamming doors and loud talks of other guests awoke us too early in the morning.

Reception and restaurant nicely refurbished to a 4-star standard.

Breakfast comprises cold and hot dishes, all tasty. However, at the late breakfast hours fruit plate is not refilled.

Secured parking next to the hotel costs LTL 20 (EUR 5,8) per day.

It seems that the hotel has fully managed to cast away its old days' poor reputation of station hotel servicing hookers.

Overall, hotel exceeded our expectations and was good quality for the deal price of EUR 36 per night.

Well this hotel was a major disappointment, but not completely. First off they put me in room 145 (what a disaster). First this is the Hotel Panorama (and the view over Vilnius is FANTASTIC), but I had a view of ventilators, a fence and roof top equipment). Amazing that they would put a guest in this type of room, who would be staying 8 nights. I complained and they apologized, and could not move me due to the hotel being completely booked, but they did offer to change my room in the morning...fine.

I went out and walked around Vilnius, for which, I was pleasantly surprised - I liked the city. Upon my return, I went to my room and decided to read before my meeting. The entire room hummed and vibrated (most like from the equipment outside). There would be NO way I could get a good night sleep and be ready for work the next day. I again went down to the front, and after some rather stern conversation - they provided me with a room with a view away from Vilnius. I was slightly disappointed, but the room was MORE than perfect.

First off, it was a newly renovated room with all new furnishings, bathroom, carpets, paint and a cupboard. The old room was old, peeling wallpaper, heat of no control and no place to put your clothes. This is why I say sort of...unless you can get a newly renovated room, this hotel does not, and should not accept any guests (it is that bad). My colleagues were also in the old part, had other issues of over heating, no hot water, lumpy beads, sporadic internet service..but they also had the view.

One other thing, it gets dark in winter rather early in Vilnius, please turn on the lights...especially in the enclosed dark wood staircase between the entrance and the first floor - it is dangerous without lighting.

The breakfast was moderate, but nothing to write home about. So regarding my ratings below, I am using my old room. Until they get the entire hotel renovated, I personally cannot recommend this hotel. Plus, they gave me a new room after my 2nd complaint, why not have moved me when I had my first complaint.

Room Tip: Renovated Only

I stayed in Panorama Hotel in October 2011. I was there whole weekend together with my wife.
All the good hotels are located in the old town but prices there are very high thats way I decided to choose Panorama - not so far away from old town (about 5-10 min. walking).

Hotel is located close to bus and train stations. In the left side of the hotel it is big car park so should be not any problem with founding some place to park.
In the same building that hotel it is also some shop with alcohol and food.

Room was clean and very comfortable. We have got 2 connect bad - not one king size.
Bathroom was nice and bright, cleaned everyday.
In the room it is possible to catch wi-fi but I was on holiday so didn't use internet and I can't say much about quality of connections.

From restaurant food I tried only breakfast - was ok but with not many variables.
In substitute of boring hotel breakfast I can recomend some small local bar offers typical Lithuanian food not so far away from hotel. To go there you must turn right from hotel and walk about 1 km straight - don't remember the name but it was only this one local, stairs down.

I had a Suite with beautiful views of Vilnius and jacuzzi. My room was clean, the staff is kind and helpful, but I asked them for a taxi and the price of taxi higher for me than usually for a local people. The price is a good value for money.

I recomanded you a suite (iti is cheap), but a double room it is a very cheap room and small and basic.

All rooms are for non-smoker and you have a penality if you smoke in the hotel. The Wi-fi is free in entire buildind of the hotel.

The breakfast was very good.

The hotel is close to railway station and you need a few minutes (10 - 15) to walk to city center.

Panorama hotel is situated in front of the railway/bus station. To explore the city you just by your bus ticket in the news paper kiosk.
The rooms are OK but I would have liked a safety box in the room and more shelves for my clothes. On the plus side is free WiFi in the whole building. All rooms are en suite with shower. I booked my room through Venere.com and paid 121 LTL (36 euros) per night with breakfast buffet included in the end of October.
I treated myselt to a very nice three courses dinner inclding water and a glass of wine in the hotel restaurant and ended up paying 60 LTL (18 euros), which to me is really cheap.

Room Tip: The hotel is situated higher than the city center, so ask for a room high up to the back and you wil...

The hotel is located just across the square from the main train & bus stations, & is a 7-8 min stroll from the Gates of Dawn, Old Town. There are great views of the Old Town from rooms at the back of the hotel, particularly at night – ask for one on the 4th or 5th floors, or take the glass side lift to the 5th floor for a peek.

The rooms & en-suite bathrooms are compact & clean. The twin-bed room is furnished with bedside tables, reading lights, a desk, chair, telephone, satellite TV with a range of european channels including an english news one. The bathroom has a clean white 3-piece small shower cubicle suite, heated towel rail, hairdryer & plentiful hot water. The room does not have a luggage rack or wardrobe, with a 4-coat-hook wall-hanger instead. So it’s best you’re not the type who likes to air out the day’s clothes from your suitcase, & have a close relationship with the person you’re travelling with. Once you get past this, it is a reasonable 3-star hotel by eastern european standards. Housekeeping is limited to emptying the bin & checking the toilet daily.

Breakfast is a decent hot & cold buffet selection. The hot food section includes baked scrambled eggs, sausages, baked beans & a great boiled farmhouse vegetable-mix of carrots, courgettes & broccoli/cauliflower, to help with your 5-a-day diet on the road. The cold selection includes several cuts of ham, pork, salami, soft & hard cheese, boiled eggs, tomatoes & cucumber, sliced black & rye bread, fruit. The let down are the over-processed cereals & watered sugary juice found most everywhere in Lithuania. Stay away from the coffee, & stick with the sachets of black, green & fruit Lipton teas. The hotel is frequented by up to 5-7 tour buses a day, but there are never more than 1-2 loads about at a time, & always space & food at breakfast.

Reception staff are brief but efficient, & provide a cold breakfast takeaway box, if you’re leaving before 7am. There’s an ATM machine & an internet access point in the lobby. There’s an 8-22 drinks store next door to the hotel where you can pick up bottled water & other drinks, & a 24-hour drive-in McDonald’s in the square outside, if that’s your thing. There’s also a Gusto Blynine restaurant in the train station for tasty filled pancakes with a choice of cream toppings. If you do not want to walk to the Old Town, there are several trolley buses from the square outside that take you to various points on the perimeter. I did not find the area unsafe after dark, seeing only ordinary commuters at 6am & 10pm making their way on public transport. However, it is always prudent you do not loiter after dark or flash your purse & valuables any place.

Room Tip: There are great views of the Old Town from the rooms at the back of the hotel. Ask for one on the 4...
