“Great Hotel”
Reviewed August 6, 2010

Good and quiet hotel in the very center of Vilnius. A short walk to everything and a bus stop around the corner where almost all lines passes. Also good view over the city and training facilities.
They could have had shower courntains in the bathroom and an flatscreen TV.

I had an oppertunity to stay at the Novotel in Vilnius for around 2 months during the autumn season. The hotel has an amazing staff, most of them ladies ;), which look after you really well. The rooms are big, spacious, comfortable and have all the jazz... By far, this hotel has the best location in Vilnius (in the heart of Gedimino Av) where all the events take place and actions is. For breakfast you have a huge spread out buffet catering to all needs. Thumbs Up! for Novotel Vilnius.

In fact,we did the walk from the Novotel to the bus and coach stations several times and was pleasurable for us,it´s not close, but we had only a light backpacks.
Location is excellent, the old city is at your feet, even you can hear sunday mass in the cathedral from the door of the hotel (thanks to loudspeakers),there are restaurants, shopping centers and grocery stores just a short stroll.
Hotel is modern and our room was very clean and enjoy a spectacular view of the city.We have a double bed and a sofa bed and a separate shower and tub. It´s not luxury but is very comfy.Staff is very friendly and accomodating.Hotel is used by tour groups so sometimes lobby is crowded and breakfast room too.Breakfast was novotel standard fare, but enough and good....smoked salmon croissants...mmmm

Seeing the previous reviews, we arrived at the international coach station from Riga and tried to walk to the hotel under 30'C! And the previous reviews WERE WRONG! IT'S DEFINITELY NOT A FEW MINUTES WALK! We walked for almost 30 minutes!! Take a cab or bus instead if you're going to the hotel from the train/ coach station!

Be aware of the taxi meter since one of the drivers charged us at Rate no.3 which costs much more (rate no.3 is used in late nights)!! The majority of the local people I met in Vilnius were quite not nice and dishonest, leaving me a very bad impression for this city depsite the Trakai Island being one of my favourite destinations.

The hotel is located in the middle of everything though. With two supermarkets besides the hotel where you can buy bottles of water! Check-in was prompt and our room was very nice, on the 7th floor with city views. We got a bath tub and a separate shower. The water pressure is ok and internet connection is good. I like the breakfast buffett offered as it offers a wide range of variety!

This is a very nice hote-the location is excellent, an easy walk to the Old Town with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Our room was small but comfortable. Bathroom with a tub and seperate shower. Breakfast room large with lots of windows and pleasant views. I loved the do-it-yourself espresso machine! Free fast WiFi. Front desk service was good and very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is located on Gedimino Avenue which is the main road of Vilnius. Next door to the hotel there's a great variety of shops, ranging from clothes to a pharmacy. The old town starts from the cathedral square right up the street, about 5 minutes away on foot.
The hotel itself has a great restaurant and bar, but just round the corner there is Da Antonio, and if you are lucky to find it, Rene is also pretty close by. If you want to keep it simple, there is a beautiful McDonalds in an old building right across the street, complete with McCafe!
The choice at breakfast is great. Everything is buffet, and although there is no chance to order a special omlette, the choice was extremely vast, ranging from smoked salmon and cheeses, and going through several cooked bacon, sausage and egg options.
The rooms are great, I had a suite, and there was enough space for a comfortable in-room meeting, complete with table and sofas. Cleanliness was excellent and the accessories available in the room are very complete.
In the lobby, there is even a Playstation III console, equipped for 2 players, which is freely available to guests.
The hotel has a small gym, complete with a mini-sauna. Very relaxing and enjoying all-round views of the city.
On the downside, I cannot agree more with other reviews that the water in the room is over-priced. The room gets very dry at night with the air circulation, so you feel the need to drink.

I'm giving this hotel three stars in my review, because I think they're deliberately profiting from guests by overcharging for mineral water. I'm used to hotel minibars being expensive but this one really deserves a mention - to be charged in the region of $10 for a bottle of mineral water is pretty crass. A pity because otherwise the hotel is quite good. The breakfast is good, the rooms have nice views of the cathedral and the location is excellent. The lobby is very modern and quite soulless - I'm not sure I would stay here again, perhaps opting for an Old Town residence. Vilnius is a lot of fun - this hotel doesn't quite fit. For business travellers and those looking for a convenient location, it ticks the right boxes.
