This is an Excellent clean bright smart modern Hotel , right in the heart of Vilnius City , It is minutes walking distance from the Old Town and only a short Taxi ride from the airport , food is excellent
price range is great € 75 per room incl breakfast , I have stayed in this hotel many times , and , even after having stayed at 3 others in Vilnius , I wouldn't ever consider staying anywehere else while in Vilnius

Can't be beaten on location, we had a front facing room on the 5th floor overlooking the main shopping street, a nice view and no outside noise. Only a few minutes walk to the old town, there are also supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The room itself was a good size, and had everything you could need. Beds were really comfortable, bathroom was nice and well stocked with toiletries.
Great breakfast too.
The best rates are found on the Accor website. Careful when booking though, if you use the back button the dates change, but only the month! and we ended up booking 6 months after arrival. No problem though, we got a room for the same rate of €79 on the original booking ,with no fuss.

Very well located modern hotel situated on Vilnius' main shopping street only a few minutes walk to the cathedral, castle, opera, museums and Old Town, and with the new business district similarly a few minutes walk north. There are a couple of supermarkets (for cheap beer and snacks) and a Macdonalds (yuk) in the immediate/close vicinty.
I spent five nights in a room on the non-smoking ninth floor. The accommodation was very good overall, well soundproofed from road noise, and spotlessly clean, tho' the carpet was a bit threadbare. The room was pretty standard Novotel - large with a comfortable 5' bed, smaller sofabed for up to 2 children, a large TV with a few english language channels, and WiFi. The ensuite had a bath as well as a separate shower, hairdryer, toiletries (but not replenished every day) etc. A useful elecronic safe and an overpriced minibar were provided.
There is a bright modern foyer with sofas and a bar, and a restaurant on the second floor (actually first as in Lithuania the ground is called the first floor) which does quite reasonably priced table d'hote meals especially at lunchtimes, though they must really do something about the grubby carpet in one section. Breakfast is an adequate hot and cold buffet, but standards here really aren't up to much. The staff did not keep up with clearing away tables or replenishing the buffet regardless of day or time. The only time I sat down to a laid table and didn't have to wait for coffee to be brought from the kitchen was a weekday just before 7am. The bar staffing is similarly poor. I waited to be served for 10 minutes at a completely empty bar one evening but gave up and ended up buying a can of beer at one sixth the price in the Maxima a couple of doors down the street. Reception and other staff were fine and occasionally even cheerful which is apparently not common in the Lithuainian hospitality industry.
I'd stay here again because of the good city centre location and well-soundproofed rooms, but I don't think this hotel represents good value for a single person - my stay worked out at an average of just over £60 per night for B & B with an early booking discounted deal.

I got a great rate with my corp discount code, but still this is a good choice. Good rooms, nice breakfast, free internet station, nice English speaking help. Also right where the most buses come through of any point there in Vilnius on the edge of Old Town. This cant be overstated as taxi drivers all over the Baltics are crooks and you would be much better off taking the local buses. Tkts are 1.40 Lita and can be bought from the driver and they do give change, or at any newspaper/candy stand which is often right near where you board. Once on the bus with tkt punch it in the new style puncher, or if you dont see that look for a small red usually metal box, and stick it in and pull the handle.
The gym also has a locker room for men and one for women. Take a key from an open locker and look inside and there are often towels and mats. No need to get your room towel soggy wet.
Banks, shopping, grocery, tourist info are all nearby. Walkable to anywhere in the Old Town area.

  • Liked — Location
  • Disliked — Even the hotels negotiated taxi rate driver will try to shake you down for more money. Do all possible to avoid a taxi ANYWHERE in the Baltics.

We got this hotel for a fantastic price. When we travel to Europe I always check the Novotel website first because I love their hotels and they always have good rates on their website if you are willing to pre-pay in advance.

The Novotel in Vilnius is clean, modern, and in a great location. The bathroom's location in the room is strange as you walk right into the bed as you exit the bathroom, but it's no big deal.

There was a little couch in the room which was great to rest on after a day of sightseeing. The Maxima grocery store on the corner next door was a GREAT find.. stocking up on snacks, water, etc. was perfect.

This city is an absolute gem and the Novotel is the perfect place to stay to explore it.

We were even able to catch some American Football (NFL) in our room on Sunday evening... fantastic!

We stayed there for 2 nights in early July 07. We got a good deal from its website, a twin room only costing EUR79 per night. The hotel is modern & bright, conveniently located on the edge of the old town; less than 10 min walk to the town center. The staffs were helpful and friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean; very quiet though facing Gedimino Ave. The bathroom has a separate bath and a hot shower. The breakfast was decent. We shall recommend this hotel to all the travelers to Vilnius.

During our recent trip to Vilnius, we stayed in both the Novotel and the SAS Astorija. Based on the reviews at TripAdvisor, I expected the Novotel to be the better experience. It turns out it was the other way around--while the Novotel was OK, it was much less nice than the Astorija.

CLEANLINESS: The Novotel was an odd mix when it came to cleanliness. Everything above carpet level was spotlessly clean. The carpets, though, were pretty grungy. I would guess that they are cleaned regularly, but have reached an age where no amount of cleaning can make them look nice. The carpet in my room had one stain that was so gross looking that I made a point of stepping around it whenever I walked across the room. Oddly, everything else--the walls, the furniture, the bathroom--was spotless. (This was true in the common areas as well--grungy carpet, spotless everything else.)

DECOR: Our room felt a bit like staying in an Ikea showroom. Everything was comfortable but it looked a little soulless.

LAYOUT: Although the room was a good size, it was laid out in an odd way that made it feel as though it had less useful space. To get to the bathroom, for example, you had to thread a somewhat narrow passage between the bed and the wall. A female traveler in our party told me that the mirrors "had obviously been placed by a man"--apparently, their placement made it hard to do your hair and makeup in front of them.

STAFF: I didn't have much interaction with the staff, but when I did, they were friendly and helpful.

RESTAURANT: Breakfast was OK but nothing special. (The Astorija breakfast was much better.) Our tour group had a dinner catered by the restaurant that was nearly inedible; several members of our party ended up going out afterwards to get a second, more palatable dinner at a local restaurant.

LOCATION: A pretty good location. Not quite as convenient to the Old Town as the Astorija, but a short walk from the Cathedral.

OVERALL: The Novotel is certainly a reasonable option, but you can probably do better.
