“great find”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2014

we chose the hotel based on my mother's recommendation, it was very close to her flat. we had our 6 year old with us so we got the apartment room. it was huge! 3 separate rooms, big bathroom. location was good, super quiet, we always had our windows open at night for air and had no noise! the staff spoke english and russian and were always so helpful, so was the kitchen, especially Renata. we stayed there for 10 nights and ate mostly there too. breakfast was good, soviet era style. the hotel is not in the centre but a tram stop right there and tram #3 takes you to old town in no time. there is a beautiful forest right outside and we hiked to the TV tower a few times. beds were comfortable. Supermarket Maxima was next door so we always had extra food in our fridge. a couple of things I found odd. no blackout curtains (try to put a 6 year old down when it is light till 11pm?), no shampoo/conditioner, water in the pool is so cold, you can't get in, no way you can swim there. overall, it was a great stay for us, we even got to play in the bowling alley.

The hotel is located quite some distance from the centre, but if you can afford taxis or are willing to take the bus that is no problem. The hotel is very quiet: no noisy street sounds, or blowing ventilators or elevator motors or whatever. The breakfast is OK (not mind-blowing). About the room: almost all hotels seem to think that a bath is the ultimate luxury. Consequently, the shower is hardly usable: too low, put in an awkward place, not easily adjustable, etc. Karolina is no real exception to that. Business travellers like me do not take a bath - a 5 min shower is enough. Hotels in general should acknowledge this.

A bit out of town but in a reasonably quiet area near the Television Tower which actually looks quite pretty at night when illuminated. There are trolley buses running just nearby. Our room was quite spacious but resembled something that was fashionable in the 1970's and the carpet in the outside corridor possibly dated from then. The restaurant was quite pleasant especially the outdoor terrace, but did have a lot of stairs which was a trifle nerve wracking at breakfast time when navigating them through the crowds while carrying a hot drink. Staff were helpful but seemed very stretched and you had to be quick to catch the bar maid before she reappeared as a waitress in the dining room!

Good located hotel a bit apart from the city center, but very nice area on the hotel territory and park next street.
We had one suite room and other night one starndart room.
Suite is very nice, spacious and cpmfortable with mini bar and balcony.
Standart is good value for this money.
Breakfast is on and held on a cozy terrace, which makes begginig of the day enjoyble )

It's ok except the fact that I asked them in email to answer me if they have any stairs because my mother have a problem she can not live in place where she need to use stairs
The answer was -no single stair in the hotel, and an elevator to get to the room
When we arrived after the long flight with my parents and a baby -stairs were everywhere...
To get to the lobbi, in the resaurant...
My mother said she can not stay I had a problem with baby also with stairs
Hotel administrator said me -show me the email...!
He could not help to find another hotel...
Finally we decided to stay because we were tired and could not connect to Internet to find another hotell

We stayed at this hotel for 3 Nights. The style is a bit 90'ish, but clean all over.
We got a two room suite. One bedroom with a doublebed and a sleepingcoach made into a doublebed in the livingroom. We missed a couple of chairs on the balcony.
Our two kids loved that there where a swimmingpool they could use.
Very helpful hotelstaff. Ok breakfast.
All in all a nice stay :)

We have had good service and pleasend visit. It was fourth time I visited the hotel.
First time was in the spring 2010 with my two lovely Irish soft coated wheaten terriers. Also in March 2012 and 2013, as well as in May 2013 we stayed there.
