“Great Museum”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

I left the acclaimed KGB museum disappointing, but this museum was great. I was all alone when looking around (as opposed to the KGB), but the displays were interesting. It was well thought out as a museum and has a little something of everything (including puppets). It's a good size, not too large or small or a museum. I wouldn't spend hours and hours, but it's worth the visit.

“A bit old school, but interesting displays”
Reviewed August 31, 2012

The place is staffed by older ladies who take their jobs very seriously and are very "watchful". Nevertheless, there are some great displays (particularly on the second floor). Also an interesting photo collection documenting the painful history of Lithuania in the 20th century.

“Very entertaining”
Reviewed August 13, 2012

First of all, you should know that National is not one building at Arsenalo 1 (that part is called New arsenal, but nine different parts. I would definitely recommend to visit one across riverbank of Neris - New arsenal, Old arsenal and climb on the top of Gediminas castle hill. Expositions are well organised and interesting, so you can easily loose track of time there. Staff is also helful and answers various questions. I would advise to check if there are no excursions booked before arrival or you wont see/explore exhibitions properly (i was lucky that i arrived half an hour before excursions so i had great time there). you can check information on http://www.lnm.lt/en/index.php.

“Great museum for starting your trip in Vilnius”
Reviewed February 3, 2012

If you've never been to Lithuanian, this is the perfect first day stop to get yourself familiar with the country's history and people. The museum is small and navigable in a just over two hours. Most of the exhibits are in english as well.
