Hotel Gile is a nice hotel for the money paid.
The room was nice and clean.
The staff speaks Russian and English. Very friendly and helpful!
Breakfast was not an open buffet but I more like a restaurant where you can order. So it was quite good.
I was exploring the city during the days and didn't really look for "fun" in the hotel so can't say if they have it in there.
When I go to Vilnus again I think I will again choose Gile hotel.

Stayed there for two nights, have to say really enjoyed it. Booked a room for 4 people but there was 5 of us that arrived to stay, they were more than happy to accommodate all of us in the one room and didnt charge extra for one more person. Great value, rooms are reasonable price. Staff couldnt be more helpful and friendly, helped us with anything we needed. They have free internet acces point for guests downstairs and free wifi throughout the building. Location is good, only 20 minutes walk to the old town. Would definitely recommend this hotel for young travellers.

We were in a student room because we stayed in hotel Gile for a whole month. The website and the price for the room looked nice, so we decided to book there. BUT: the rooms (we had a double room) are really, really small. The shared kitchen has NO plates, jars, pots, no cutlery, nothing - we had to buy everything at a nearby market. If you want towels, bed clothes, pillows or a blanket - guess what? You have to pay for it. Just the rent for this stuff is 100 litas (about 28€) per month and if you want to have them changed or cleaned another 20 litas. Then the next surprise when we wanted to check out: gas, electricity and wifi are not included in the price.
To summarize: Staying in hotel Gile brought a lot of bad surprises, we didn't like their attitude that you have to pay extra for everything although they cannot tell this when you check-in or do your booking. Although the location is good and furniture is quite new, we left with a bad feeling and will not recommend to stay there for a longer while.

This hotel has 2 floors of students who take great delight in screaming all hours of the night during the weekends. Also, the rooms have no fans or air conditioning and hat up terribly when the temperature outside is consistently over 35C.

The breakfast is healthy with mostly organic food and the positionis about 15 minutes walk to the old town.

If you want to sleep, don't book this hotel. This establishment is a mix of a dormitory for college students and a hotel. Management does not appear to segregate rooms, so hotel rooms and dorm rooms are interspersed. The noise level is ridiculous and management does nothing to control the students. The party in the corridors, the lobby, and the stairwell.

Breakfast is disgusting. We went to the grocery store and bought cereal to eat at the breakfast.

The location is not convenient to old town.

I would avoid this hotel at all costs.

This hotel is very strange, it seems to be a very upmarket student halls of residence for some students and the other rooms are used as hotel rooms! That said, the room was fantastic for the price, all new furniture and wood flooring and comfy beds.

The main road outside was rather noisy but the window kept all the noise out. The location of the hotel is fairly good. It's about 15 minutes walk away from the start of old town and 5 minutes from a 24 hour supermarket that sells practically anything and everything - useful if you plan to use the kitchen or laundry facilities.

The distance from the centre, whilst quite far from the sights is not a problem as once you are there everything is in close proximity!

The only downside for us was the breakfast - very basic and strange to us - but then again we aren't Lithuanian!

As a value over night stay the hotel was fine - the breakfast was basic and it took a good 20 - 25 mins to walk to the town centre depending on the weather it could take longer - slight up hill walk. Room was chilly but it was minus 10 outside. I had the feeling the hotel was used by students as the rooms are very basic but clean. If you looking for an over night stay it would satisfy your needs particularly if on a budget. There are a couple of supermarkets and restaurants about 5-10 mins walk - there were a few restaurants the same distance. Room had a fridge but no kettle. There was a plasma TV fitted at a comfortable level only if you chose to lie in bed.
