Description: Refined Lithuanian cuisine has developed over many years in nobles' and wealthy citizens homes and had stopped naturally to evolve after II World War. Our restaurant pursue traditions of urban (bourgeoisie) cuisine of Vilnius by collecting recipes from the old notebooks of Vilnius ladies and refining them according to the new trends. Our family restaurant kindly invites to discover the flavors of bourgeoisie cuisine of Vilnius, and enjoy exclusive wines and mead. Cozy and intimate atmosphere, relaxing music, amicable and attentive service, the world of sensory delights - it is another great choice to give yourself an unforgettable dining experience.

“Superb nouvelle-Lithuanian cuisine”
Reviewed July 30, 2014

We decided to try Holy Mikos on our last night in Lithuania, and in Europe on this trip, because of its excellent TripAdvisor review. In this case, the restaurant definitely merited the good review.
The location is very nice; down a narrow side street off Pilies Street, the main Old Town drag in Vilnius, and ultra-convenient to our hotel, the Shakespeare. The venue is nice as well; a choice between a beautiful, olde world style interior with plenty of wood trim and beams in the ceiling, or outdoor seating along the tiny, narrow, car-free olde world street. The service was friendly, prompt, helpful, and English-fluent. But the food! That's what we go to a restaurant for, right? Superb, superb, superb. I had the Lithuanian mushroom soup with lamb dumplings for an appetizer, and the absolutely perfectly cooked venison filet for the main course. My only complaint: I couldn't have a second helping. Outstanding!! My wife had a beautifully prepared beet, arugula, and goat cheese salad, and for her main course, a superb pork filet roast on caraway/parsnip sauce and with a side of pork belly. OMG. Needless to say, we'd go back, but for the fact we fly home tomorrow. Highest possible recommendation!

“Very good, but not a "5" when we dined”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

The restaurant's rating and its advertising drew us to the door, but for some reason it was almost deserted when we ate there around 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday. We thought this strange because competing establishments on Pilies Street were jammed. Our young server was a one-woman show and although she was diligent and pleasant, our group of five was competing with the group of six beside us (i.e. the only two tables with patrons) and there were some delays. We were disappointed with the beer selection (Amstel in Lithuania? Really?). Although the two tartare offerings were standouts, we generally wondered why the restaurant had garnered such high scores. Yes, it was good, but not as outstanding as other contributors have mentioned.

“Simply Delicious & Right Portioning”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

We are in Vilnius for 3 days and our hotel recommended this cozy delicious restaurant. We came late, but the restaurant was gracious to make the 2 courses for us. The food is portioned just right, it is important leaving the restaurant with the delicious taste still in your palate! Our beef, herring tartars and cured halibut were excellent! Other dishes were Roasted Venison with beetroot and Roasted Chicken with Buckwheat.....so well made, we could not asked for more.....! We have been travelling from Tallinn, via Riga to Vilnius, we have had such great food across the Baltic States! So happy and Wowed away! We take food very seriously.....!

“Great food and great service!”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

Four of us went to Holy Mikos and we had a great meal with wonderful house wine. It is located down a small side street in a very quaint building. The server was great, very attentive and helped us with our choices - duck confit was excellent. The food was beautifully prepared. I liked that the menu was small - I believe each dish is carefully prepared.
