This little church looks fo fragile from outside, real master piece. Now i understand why Napoleon wanted to take it back to France holding it on his palm. Small, cozy church.

While the church is very plain on the outside, the inside is amazingly ornate. The sanctuary was awash in color and iconic imagery. We literally spent half an hour just staring at the walls.

The church is just a few step from the Gates of Dawn and more than worth a stop if you're on that side of town.

As soon as you enter the city through the Gates of Dawn, directly to your right is the magnificent Church of St. Theresa. This was our first church visited during a day of sightseeing Vilnius churches last June. Interestingly, it was our very favorite, through and through and warranted a return visit two days later prior to our leaving Vilnius.

The highlight of St. Theresa is the decorative main hall as many pictures show. It is a bit dark so you must have a steady hand with the camera but this church is truly beautiful and peaceful inside. You can make wonderful pictures not easily forgotten after you leave Vilnius or just sit and marvel at what you are looking at. We easily spent 20-25 minutes, just sitting, admiring the place.

This was our favorite church in Vilnius, followed by St. Casimir, further down the main street and St. Anna, the more Gothic-style church near the foot of the Hill of Crosses. If you can only see 1 church in Vilnius, this is the one you should target. On this basis, we highly recommend the Church of St. Theresa in Vilnius
