Description: Narrow Stikliu street in the old town of Vilnius began it‘s history in XVth century, when merchants and craftsmen, invited by Lithuanian Grand Dukes, here started their businesses - shops, workshops and taverns. The building, where currently restaurant “Lokys” is situated, was build in the end of XVth century for one of the merchants both for living and trading purposes.Over centuries, gothic cellars changed their owners for couple of times. Here have been shops, taverns and beerhouses, until 1972, when it was restored and hunters’ restaurant “Lokys” housed here.

“Interesting location and good game menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

We found this place on a rainy night and were pleasantly surprised by the interior. We chose to sit "in the basement" - getting down the stairs was an adventure, but then we were treated to a private room in the front for the 4 of us. The place was pretty busy for a weeknight. We were able to order with limited difficulty and the appetizers and game entrees were really good. We had bison and venison steak and enjoyed them. Typical Eastern European veggies and beer is better than the wine. The history of the house as a glass blowers workshop, store and house was interesting, as we had taken the Jewish tour in the afternoon and this place is in the middle of the originally Jewish area. Glad we chose this for our one dinner out.

“Good, not great”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2013

Entree and apps were good and the wait staff was very attentive. Dessert was not good, but maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Great location and good ambiance, would dine there again.

“Great location, tasty local food (game)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

We were first seated in a more rustic area, then moved to the main restaurant. The menu is quite heavily meat-based, but our vegetarian colleague was still happy with his (albeit limited) choice. It's quite touristy, but the meat was very tasty. Nice local beer and warm atmosphere, very good value for money.
