I didn't actually stay at Congress - stayed for two nights at the Ambassador just up the road, who sent us to Congress for our breakfast.
Breakfast buffet initially looked excellent - a big selection. But I like a bit of fresh bread or a nice roll, and the pieces of white bread and miniature rolls were pretty stale on the first day. Hoped for better the second day, but obviously nothing fresh had been added and what was there was, by then, yellowed and pretty solid, certainly inedible. Asked the waitress if they had anything fresh and she rooted through a carrier bag that contained lots, lots more of this aged bread. Sadly she didn't seem overly concerned about this, despite my pointedly demonstrating the sound the bread made when you tapped it with your fingernails :-)
So the moral is, if you like fresh bread, bring your own!
