I see that several reviewers have had poor experiences at the Tilto. My experience was fine.
I tried to book through their website and found it difficult to use (to put it politely) so I ended up booking through booking.com. Hopefully they've fixed the website by now.
I asked, via email, for a taxi to meet me at the airport. It arrived on time and the price was as they told me it would be (and a lot less than colleagues paid who picked a taxi up at the airport taxi stand). The cost of the taxi ride was put on the hotel bill which is convenient if you don't have a lot of litas on hand when you arrive.
The lobby is nonexistant. Just a small desk at the bottom of the stairs. Some people were checking out as we were checking in and that alone created a traffic jam. At this stage I was pretty unimpressed. The room, on the other hand was exactly as advertised. Large clean room, with huge windows that opened to the street. A good firm bed, sofa, and wardrobe. They have free wi-fi, although you have to go down to the front desk and get a chit to use it. Not massively convenient but everyone seems to speak English pretty well and the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful
The bathroom was a good size, with a large shower.
The location was excellent, just a few metres from Cathedral Square. The old town of Vilnius is quite small so you can easily walk from the hotel, through cathedral square, and along Pilias Gatve all the way to the Gates of Dawn, which is at the other end of the old town. A "more central" hotel would hardly be any more central than the Tilto.
Breakfasts were okay. The coffee was marginal but the food was okay, and a bit different.
The "Guiness Bar" was a joke. You can go down into the basement in the evening and get a beer, but you'll probably be alone. I stay in smallish hotels in Europe a lot and I woundn't normally expect a small place like this to have a bar. I guess it's useful for them to pretend they do but really, they don't. There's lots of places to eat and drink a few metres away from the hotel.
In summary, my experience was fine. The front desk people were good, the room was excellent, the location was excellent, breakfasts were okay, they don't really have a bar/restaurant to speak of, or a lobby at all, but that's pretty unimportant to me.
I'd go back.
