The Ninth Fort in Kaunas, Lithuania is fabulous! It is full of history and GREAT for "history buffs" like myself. The fort was built in 1913 when Lithuania was part of the Russian Empire. Our guide was young, handsome, and extremely informative. His English was most impressive! A guided tour is inexpensive. It is cold and dark in the vaults and tunnels of the complex. Wear comfortable closed toe shoes and a jacket.
