“Trencin Castle”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

Trencin is a lovely little town just an hour and a half away from Bratislava. The castle is the third biggest in Slovakia, its beautiful with a very interesting history. Although the tour is primarily done in Slovak there is alot of written information in English and it is definitely a worthwhile visit.

“History in Trencin.”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

The Castle is a must thing to visit in historic City of Trencin.
Located majestically on high rock, is an eye opener, how do they build it ? The castle Tower offers lovely views of the whole city and surroundings. The water well is impressive, and it is called "Well of love", as the story said.
Highly recommending.

“Glory of Trenčín”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

It´s beautiful castle in Trenčín.
The castle is under construction now.
Here you have two optionsfor a tour of the castle: little circuit or big circuit. The big circuit contains castle tower too.
From the castle tower is excellent view. You can see some kilometers far.
In the summer there are usually a variety of events (such as falconers, presentation some handmade, ...).
Here is legendary Omar´s well. (Fatima´s and Omar´s love).

“Beautiful castle on the rock in the centre of a small town”
Reviewed April 10, 2014

This amazing castle is located up on the rock right in the middle of nice small town. It's a short walk to get there, you can choose from either short or long guided tour. Just be careful, as in winter guided tour is usually only in Slovak language. You have to pay entrance fee, it's quite cheap, but be prepared, if you want to make some pictures, it coasts extra 1eur for camera! Even if you just want to walk up, you will have to pay for a short guided tour, but the view from the top of the castle is stunning and you can see legendary Omar's well, also. It's definitelly worth it, to walk up the the castle, when you're in Trencin!

“Great castle incl. the guided tour”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

Well, it's worth to climb into the castle hill, for a wonderfull experience. You can go thru the passage in the city, where you go thru stairway that is closed, and You can climb thru the old streets up the castle hill..
At the entrance, you can buy a short or a long guided tour. If You want to mak pictures with the phone, please do not take the extra euro for camera, the cell phone cameras are free for picture taking..
Btw. You can not buy tickets in at the beginning of the guided tour, only at the main entrance, by my last visit a young couple was quite unhappy, cause they had to get all the way down to the entrance, just because not buying there.
When you go to the big guided tour, you will get into the tower (don't miss going on the top, the view of Trenčín is just woow) and couple of rooms (as on the small one) but you also get to the chapel ruins, and you go thru the history of Slavic tribes in trenčín and you get to see all the valuable stuff, that was found around the castle thru the ages..
And you can see the notoriously known Omar's well, that was (as legend says) dogged by prince Omar to get back princess Fatima (all a fairy tale) but still a part of the legend ;)
There is also a painting collection, please don't miss this one! There are 2 specialties inside. A picture painted in a way, that the mans eyes and his left foot are following you, from what ever angle you are looking on them...and a painting of mideval sea battle with warships, where, when coming closer you will see astonishing details on each ship (people not bigger as 1,5 to 2 mm and all the details of their work/battle/toilet :) etc are soooo greatly painted)

So I can recommend, when You are in Trenčín go there for sure
