“Piece of luxury in the historic city centre”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

I cannot recommend other place to go to than this marvellous one. I come from this little town and was so happy when they finished reconstruction this more than 100 years old hotel. Also its position is very good, walking distance from train station, castle, and other sightseeings. After many years of experience working in hospitality I can say this hotel can be compared to 5 star hotels in Vienna. Staff is friendly, well-trained, neat, fluent in English and very helpful. When you step in to the lobby you feel the brightness around you which comes from the glass roof of the hotel.Very classy. Hotel is very well furnished, in secession-modern atmosphere. Hotel is nicely divided to many sections, you have very good access to all of them. There are two restaurants - Sissi /more kind of caffe, or bar/ and Elizabeth. The second one is more "posh" with more expensive meals, but also very nice furnished. I had my meal in Sissi, and was very good. I must say that wellnes area is absolutelly amazing, there are 4 kinds of sauna, pool with jaccuzzi jets, relax lounge with drinking water always ready. Nice dressing rooms, very clean. I had the chance to undergo 2 types of massage. I had the warm oil head massage from one egyptian guy, and I must say, the best massage I have ever had!Very relaxing and unusual. The second one was the one with lava rock stones and I almost fell asleep:-D Very warm, calming, relaxing one. Thank you Mirka:-) While you are in wellness, you forget life outside. I can completely recommend! Also the Beauty Salon offers wide scale of service from hair dressing to manicure - all staff very experienced and nice. Everyone passing by Trencin should at least visit to have a look and maybe book a room in this beautiful new hotel with the 2000 years old Roman inscription on the castle rock which you can see from the hotel terrace:-) THUMBS UP!

Stayed resently in the Elizabeth Hotel in Trencin for four nights for a business purpose. Elizabeth is a great combination in between old arcitecture and contemporary design with all modern amenities you can think of. Located right at the city center of Trencin and actually right in front of the huge rock, that´s home to the beautyful castle. That is one specialty of that hotel, one part is so close to that rock, you can literally lean out of the window and touch it. Another nice touch ist the way, how they included some glass bottom parts in the lobby, to showcase parts of the archeological structure and stones underneath the hotel. Spacious, modern rooms, big bathrooms and a very well done pool/spa/sauna section. The hotel also has a nicely decorated cafe / breakfast room (breakfast by the way was very good, great selection of food) an bar, and another restaurant for fine dining. Tried the restaurant, food was great and surprisingly reasonable, as is the entire hotel. Staff was always friendly and helpful, however, and this is maybe the only let down, most of them seem not to be locals so they can barely advise some restaurants or things to do in town. Hotel Elizabeth has exceeded my expectations for a very reasonable price. I totally agree with other reviews saying, a 5 star for a 3 star price.
Don´t miss the castle while in Trencin.

This hotel was fabulous, really beautiful city location, with a spectacular position, nestled against the side of the castle hill, in the shadow of the awesome castle. The inside was emaculate, finished to a very high standard. Considering its location in such as small, by comparison city. Very good value too. Great little spa at the back.

Room Tip: Junior suite is just a few euro more.

I come back to Trencin for a short business trip. We stood at the same property - Hotel Elizabeth, probably the best location in Trencin, in the centre of the city with parking place.
Check-in and check-out without any problem, they gave me a free upgrade because of my 2nd stay and a voucher for complimentary drink - nice surprise.
I have tried one of the rituals in their spa, I have to tell you, one of the best massages I have ever had, done by Ahmed, an egyptian guy working in wellness.
Hotel changed also the menu in the restaurant, the food was excellent, the staff too.
Can warmly recommend to everybody.
As someone wrote before, "Jewel". And I can confirm.

The Hotel Elizabeth is a gorgeous hotel. It was recently renovated and refurbished and it knocks you over when you walk in the door. It has a lovely swimming pool that we thoroughly enjoyed. We used the restaurant several times, and the food was quite good. The staff was helpful, but reluctantly so. The room was very nice, but everything LOOKED good, but wasn't geared to being USED. It was hard to open the drawers; there was no grab-bar in the shower, etc. Obviously looks were taken over utility in the renovation process! The only restaurant we found within easy walking distance was a pizza place, so we used the hotel coffee shop. I would recommend the hotel, with provisos.

The hotel with its historical façade has been renovated recently and makes a fine impression. The lobby area and bar are bright and imaginative ideas make it pleasant to stay there for a while. The individual floors are accessed via a modern lift out of glass. The integration of old and new made a number of steps necessary – so be careful.
A charged parking lot is rather close to the hotel.
The Elizabeth is located at the foot of Trencin Castle. Next to the hotel there is access to a pedestrian district, so that the centre of the old town can be reached by a short walk.
The buffet breakfast was of very good quality.
There is a pool, not very large for swimming but equipped with bubbles and of pleasant temperature.
We were given a rather dark room on an upper floor. It was sufficiently large and equipped with brownish furniture and curtains. Looking out of the window you could only see the slope of the castle hill, however.
While the décor of the room was quite nice we missed a coffee maker. The prices of the minibar were quite low, which is rarely found in hotels. The position of the TV set was awkward as it could only be watched from one side of the bed.
The bathroom posed no problems apart from the fact that there was no security handle at the at the bathtub.
The Wi-Fi worked flawlessly.
The hotel can definitely be recommended although it is not really a bargain.

Room Tip: Avoid a room facing castle hill (cf. above)..

Stayed for two nights whilst visiting businesses in the Trencin region. As others have, mentioned the hotel is spotless, service attentive and oozes 5 star class. Wellness centre pool and sauna was welcome and a treat for guests. Will definitely come back next time in SK.
