“Wonderful hotel in a great location”
Reviewed February 18, 2013

I did quite a bit of hotel research on hotels in Kosice before booking and judging by Trip Advisor there are a number of good ones, I therefore found it quite difficult to choose once I narrowed it down to 3, I am sure I picked the best one. My room was spacious and had a lovely bathroom. The bar area was very nice too although the bar did close about 11 which was not ideal but if you order what you would like before the bar closes it will be waiting for you once you get back from your night out. The staff were all lovely and do everything they can to make your stay one to remember. The breakfasts were good, cereals, ham, salad or cooked breakfast, lots of choice. We had to leave at 6am for our flight home and as breakfast doesn't open until half six we asked if they could do anything for us, sure enough nothing was too much trouble and they opened early for us.
The location is great, just round the corner is the main street. I would love to stay here again, I believe there was a spa but unfortunately we didn't have time to try it.
Thank you Hotel Bristol

Room Tip: My room was 210 which I think was in the loft, nice room but no view as it had a slanted roof.

I'm sorry for the lateness of posting this review, but last May when I was writing about our most recent European trip I completely missed writing this review.

As before, when we arrived we were greeted by name by the front desk staff. We were shown to our room (the exact same one we had on our last trip to Kosice - a nice touch) by Veronica, whose English was great and who had worked in Maryland the year before. We of course had a lot to talk about.

We previously had arranged with the hotel to have a small dinner party for friends. The hotel closed their dining room that evening and served the most wonderful and delicious Slovakian themed meal to all our friends. After the dinner we were escorted to the rooftop patio overlooking the city for after dinner drinks. The hotel put on a wonderful party and all our Slovakian friends congratulated us on choosing this hotel.

When we were leaving early in the morning three days later, the hotel staff prepared a wonderful box meal to take on our train trip to Budapest. The hotel arranged for a taxi and instructed the driver to take our bags onto our train car.

My wife and I have been in a lot of wonderful hotels around the world, but never have we had such personalized and caring service as we have always experienced at The Hotel Bristol! We, of course will be back to this hotel the next time we are in Kosice.

Room Tip: The 3rd Floor has the best views

We have stayed at Bristol Hotel (and in Kosice also) one night only and now feel sorry about this, since both the hotel and the town are absolutely amazing.

The hotel enjoys an unbeatable location right in the very heart of the old town. All the must-sees are of course accessible by feet. A huge shopping all is located onlly 5 mins from the hotel as well.

The receptionists are very friendly and polite. They have provided me with a small Kosice guide and all the information on the town I wanted.

The hotel's lobby is very nice: it has big flat TV, big windows and a bar with excellent cocktails. We have also met an owner of the hotel with his wife there and they were so friendly that wined us with a very nice slivovica made by themselves. Now we even think to buy a bottle or two, but it's already too late :(

The restaurant is quite small, but cozy enough and provides very standard breakfasts. All the products are of the high quality.

The rooms are not that notable. They are absolutely okay, as in any hotel of the major hotel chains. But frankly I was surprised when found this quality in the small town in Eastern Slovakia. The bathroom is big and very clean, with good cosmetics.

We have also visited a Roman SPA which has hamam and Finnish sauna areas, two pools (with quite cold water though), recreation area and massage cabinet. They also serve complimentary water and tea there. The SPA is not large and you'll probably feel comfartable if there is not more than 6-7 persons inside, but very nice and cozy.

So, I would definitely recommend this hotel to any types of travellers. This hotel has a soul.

we were getting married in kosice on 2008 and had over 30 people coming from ireland most were staying in hotel we arranged to take some musicians from ireland to play some music and arranged for them to play in lobby of bristol and that manager would pay for hire of equipment.
when guests arrived from ireland we were presented with a bill of €200.00 for hire of equipment as manager denied he agreed to anything needless to say we were extremely annoyed but had no choice but to pay then he ordered staff to increase prices in the bar as there was a lot of drink been consumed he took complete advantage of the suitaction we had planned to have music there a second night but cancelled as we were so annoyed.
the staff were rude and very poor service provided -food took over hafe an hour for a salad and the reception staff were again extremely rude we complained to the relevant authorites and they were received a fine. its a very central location however i would strongly not reccommed this hotel... regard joe ward ireland

Room Tip: there are lots of hotels and in the area and apartments to rent

We stayed here for 3 nights.

We came from Budapest by train and the Kosice train station is a short walk away.

The hotel is located in a fantastic location. Its steps away from the cathedral and main square.

The hotoel is very modern, has wi-fi and an outstanding breakfast.

If you come to Kosice, stay here. Its fast, friendly and worth it.
