Set in a renaissance nobleman's home, the Arcadia is one of the great hotel finds in eastern europe. The large number of staff are courteous and willing to do anything for you, regardless of what you are inquiring about. The room was phenomenal: large, beautifully furnished with tapestries and furniture; HiDef wall-mounted TV; and a marble bath that was huge and modern. Nothing lacked. Their restaurant "L'Olive" has been voted the best in Slovakia (and, it is wonderful: local produce, cheeses, meats and fish). The "Library Bar" is like sitting in a nobleman's library - fireplace, love seats, etc. It's open 24/7.

The location is RIGHT in the market square - 3 steps away. We were there for the Christmas Market and a more magical time you can't have: handmade gifts, mulled wine, grilling sausages, decorations. We heartily recommend this - and, it's only one hour away from Vienna!

Simple! Arrive at Vienna Airport and near McDonald's as you exit customs you'lll see signs for busses. Slovaklines or Eurobus (they are the same company) has a small office there. You can buy tickets there (or, on the bus itself). They run every half-hour to Bratislava and the trip takes 60 minutes from the airport. [If you are downtown Vienna, the same bus stops there, too. From downtown it takes about 75 minutes). Make sure you get off at the main bus station (the last stop) which will be closer to the old town. You still need to take a taxi from the station to your hotel but they are plentiful.

Room Tip: Loved Room 14 - a "standard double". Nothing "standard" about it!

I recently stayed in Bratislava on business and discovered this true gem in the old city. Its intimacy makes it very pleasant and the historical building is really impressive starting with the lobby and its stunning glass roof. The staff as extremely helpful and dedicated starting with the General Manager, Mme Tepla, who has an eye for details and truly cares for the comfort of her guests.
I tried the restaurant and was told that they got an award as the best in the city. The food was certainly good and included traditional Slovak dishes with a modern twist. Great location as well right in the old city.
Overall, an excellent stay and surely my hotel of choice when I return to Bratislava.

I used the Arcadia for a small conference and was delighted by everything. Service was excellent, the food was delicious and the room was very comfortable. Because I was the organiser the hotel upgraded me to a suite which was very thoughtful as I needed extra space to work in. Nothing was too much trouble and the other delegates who stayed in the hotel agreed that the 5 star rating was well deserved. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

According to my eyes and ears, this establishment caters amongst others for business travellers like myself, families with children, retired couples, and wedding parties. It also facilitates wheelchair users and accommodates smokers. Staff are welcoming, professional, and attentive. Rooms make the guest feel cosseted. The restaurant satisfies. Overall, the atmosphere and design appeal both to those accustomed to luxury at home and those who would like to be so accustomed. For this frequent traveller who frequents similar establishments elsewhere in Europe, one of a string of oases.

Room Tip: Rooms fronting the street (i.e. not the inner well) advisable and acceptable, as the hotel is located in a pedestrians only zone.

This was a lovely stay. Service was very helpful (even set up a router in my room to get WIFI!). Room was very clean and large. I was happy to get up my bed to enjoy the amazing breakfast. Location is ideal, in the center of the old town. The bar is well decorated, with a warm atmosphere.
