Obchod v muzeu is a private museum of trade & industry (free entry) and small retail shop located on Biela Street in the middle of the Old Town.
Here you can find a nicely organised collection of historical signs, cash registers, coffee machines and other retail shop equipment of yesteryear. There is also a retail shop where you can buy locally made food, drinks and other products.
The museum area is free and operating costs are supported by retail sales. You can see the entire collection in just 10-15 minutes. While no purchases of any kind are required or asked for, if you enjoy what you see at Obchud v muzeu, we'd suggest making a purchase to support this small enterprise and to help keep it up and running for the benefit of of future travellers to Bratislava.
We bought a bottle of locally sourced Riesling as well as a box of chocolate and cinnamon covered almonds. Both were affordable and very good, indicating that products here are of good quality. We'd have no problem buying the same food and drink again as well as trying others.
Overall, this is a very nice stop to make in the Old Town. The museum area is particularly enjoyable if you like old retail shop equipment, particularly signs and cash registers. Further, purchased products here were very good, making this a memorable stop during our last trip through Bratislava. We will definitely return and offer high recommendation for stopping by Obchud v muzeu when visiting the Old Town.
