Bratislava is an hour away from Vienna. Buses start from 5 Euros. Old toen is small and can be visited in one day. Plenty of restaurants cafes shops souvenir shops... my advice is to sleep the night and spend 2 days.

Stopped here for a few days on our way from Budapest to Vienna and we were very happily surprised. The old town is small but has no cars and is full of delicious restaurants, cafes and cocktail bars to just sit down and enjoy people passing by. This is our 771st city (no joke) and few cities are memorable enough to be in our top ten. Bratislava, with its laid back attitude and nice people, is now in our top ten of places to come visit and see the Slovak “joie de vivre” if you have a chance. Enjoy!
Love this city very clean the people are extremely nice and helpful the river view is stunning great experience
Bratislava old Town is cozy and of a perfect size to wander around for a while. We stopped here on our way to Budapest and we are happy we did.
We visited this lovely historic old town, which is very compact and easy to walk around. Mostly traffic free or completely pedestrianised it is safe and pleasant to see all the accessible shops, churches, museums, restaurants, cafes and bars which abound in the old town.
The old town area is a great place to visit. It has many bars, restaurants and shops. We had tea in a bomb shelter and it was unique and had really great tea! The young lady working there was really nice!
