Good friendly hotel - waking up and seeing the boats go by.
Very clean - breakfast continental but good. Bar was closed for refurbishment and the whole boat was in the middle of a makeover. Very well situated adjacent to the old town where there are numerous bars and restaurants. It is also well worth a one and a half hour trip up the Danube to Vienna.
Large shopping complex within walking distance across the bridge, all in all a place to be recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the river side.

We decided to try out a botel for the first time and I was very satisfied with the overall experience but especially with the cleanliness. It's nice and comfortable and also very nicely situated with the bars/old town relatively close. We walked from the train station because we wanted to walk through the city and found that it was <15 minute walk. The breakfast was not the best, but it wasn't bad. Definitely feel like you get your money's worth.

When you see the price you know this wont be the Ritz, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Botel Gracia. The reception is rather more plush than the rooms, however our twin room was reasonably well-sized, and had a view of the river. The bathroom was rather small, however the shower was very good which made up for the lack of space somewhat.

The breakfast was also quite good, a fair range of foods, and coffee/juice etc including plenty of choice for children.

The location is about a 10 minute walk from the old town and some nice restaurants and pubs, and was easy to find on a slightly late night (and a little inebriated!) walk back! Check out was fairly painless and we managed to book a taxi from the botel (well, the car park near the ramp) to go to the train station the next morning.

If you are looking for a budget hotel that is a bit gimmicky as well then this is a good bet, if you want to push the boat out a little (excuse the pun) and find something a little more romantic then I might keep looking...

I must say we had a few reservations about staying on a boat when we booked, but these were all unfounded. Although not the most attractive boat from the outside, we found the rooms were absolutely fine. Decent size room (for a boat) comfortable beds. Small but functional bathroom / toilet facilities. All clean and tidy. Where else can you sit up in bed , open the curtains and see the Danube flowing by about a metre from your window. Breakfast was basic but good (apart from the cold scrambled egg). The boat is situated a couple of minutes walk from the historical centre. I would recommend if you want a good budget room and the novelty of sleeping on a boat

Room Tip: Rooms with river view have great scenery and are quieter

But great value for money. The rooms are simply furnished but the beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and quiet while the showers are hot with good pressure. The location had limited parking but is brilliantly located for exploring the city. Breakfast was adequate to set you up for the morning. The receptionist, and other staff, were hard working, helpful and friendly. What more do you want for the price?

First off - sorry for the delay, I joined only a few days ago :D

Our cunning plan was to visit Vienna, but the accommodation there is less attractively priced, so instead we got two cities for the price of one! Stayed here one night and continued to Vienna the next day.

Anyway, back to the Botel.

Location: It's not our first Danube botel, stayed in one when in Budapest a few years back. It's not going to be the last, either! The fact that it floats is probably the main reason we booked it, that's what staying ON the Danube means. Constant sound of water rushing past outside is what makes this unique, but it doesn't rock the boat. Plus, it's easy to find, Europe's 2nd largest river is kind of hard to miss... And the "UFO Bridge" has proven useful as well. The Botel is situated within 5 minutes' walk from city centre, has a CAR parking (more on it later) and is rather affordable - not the cheapest but most central for its price range. Nice riverside promenade just outside.

Room: We booked a triple room and when we got in, first impressions were that it was too hot in there, but opening the windows got that sorted by bedtime. The river is always cold. There is ventilation but probably no AC - couldn't determine. The room looks tiny but there is enough space for 3 beds, a seating area, TV and a fridge. The windows and light fixtures seem second-hand, probably off of a train, which actually adds to the experience ;-). The bathroom is very small but clean, functional, and well stocked with towels, shampoo by the sink and liquid soap in the shower, we corrected the locations of those. There is free Wi-Fi in the room, and a free-to-use PC in the lobby.

Sleep quality: Beds are not uncomfortable, we were tired in the evening and got a good night's sleep. One thing was annoying though, the neon tubes wouldn't switch off completely so there was always some strange glow in the room, it was probably those pesky aliens from the UFO across the river =0

Facilities: There is a breakfast area of generous size. The breakfast is the usual buffet type. Outside bar was being renovated, it's probably nice when open.
The riverbank parking is a "first in - last out" kind of thing, at least it's included in room price. There indeed are only four spaces marked but the place holds around ten cars so don't plan to leave in a rush if you happened to arrive just when check-in started the day earlier. The reception staff located several of the other guests and informed them to move their cars, but it still took almost an hour and a lot of skill to get out. Not a complaint only an observation.

We actually recommended the place to some friends who stayed there in June just as the Danube reached its highest level in half a century, so thumbs up for flood safety! Go! Have an anti-cruise, boat is stationary and the water moves...

Room Tip: Choose river view, it's much better.

When we arrived at the hotel in the evening, at first we thought it was closed and abandoned - it didn't look inviting at all. Fortunately, we saw some faint light coming from a window. The room was okay, adequately sized, with an old tv (it was okay; we didn't come here to watch tv) and a tiny but clean bathroom. Wifi was not promised for the room, so we were pleasantly surprised that it sometimes worked (it worked consistently in the lobby). The boat didn't rock at all; other than the view, you couldn't tell we weren't on land. Breakfast was okay (horrible coffee though). The staff was nice. The downside is parking: we wanted a secured lot, and the ones nearby cost almost as much as the room (the hotel, as a boat, had no parking garage).
