Rooms: comfortable, complimentary mini bar, regular comfort: flat screen satelite, hair dryer, etc, nice english country style interior decoration.
Facilities: sauna, gym, bar, library (did not use eiter of them), very cosy hall with real fire place, welcome drink, very good breakfast (english, continental, good choice of fruit...), nice terrace for summer (but it was autumn, first snow day), apples available everywhere in the hotel (corridor, hall)
Staff: extremely friendly and helpful, very good english (all of them)
Underground parking: requires some driving skills
Location: in city centre, everything in walking distance, no driving required

Room Tip: only good rooms, I guess, I had one on the terrace side, and this was quiet.

Marrol's exceeded the expectations I'd developed from research and reviews. We arrived very laye after a harrowing day of driving in cold, icy and slippery conditions. The receptionist was warm, friendly and helpful. She promptly asked our selections for our complimentary welcome drink. A sekt for me and beer for hubby, both served in Elegant Slovakian crystal by a classically-uniformed waiter, made it clear we'd selected the right place for a few comfortable nights.

As a hotelier, I am very sensitive to the subtle extras that please guests. I extend the highest compliments to management of Marroll's for, among other things, (1) selecting, training and apparently motivating a first class staff throughout the establishment. We appreciated the professionalism accompanied by smiles and good wishes of doormen, reception desk, servers, bussers, barneb, housekeepers. The attitude was delightful. (2) exceptional attention to detail in the guest room and public areas. I appreciated the quality of shelf construction, the comfortable furnishings, the complimentary fine chocolates and butter cookies, the sophisticated and unusual library selections. I felt like I was a privileged guest of a great, wealthy host.

The room was average rather than over-sized, but the furniture selection made it extremely comfortable and functional for two people. The pillow assortment and comfortable bed were just what I needed after three weeks of travelling. The complimentary mini-bar was a lovely bonus. Each day it was stocked with a beer, sodas, regular and mineral water, and my favorite, a split of local white wine. Small packets of nuts too. Between this and the apples available at all tomes, there was no danger of starving.

I slept like a content baby, waking up in time for a typical but anove-average buffet breakfast. I was especially impressed by the pitchers of five different fresh juices, whole milk, nonfat milk and soy milk, as well as hot milk for the hot beverages. And, a bottle of champagne for mimosa lovers or those who prefer their morning beverage to sparkle.

This is indeed a great boutique hotel. I jighly recommend it and would stay nowhere else if I return to Bratislava.l

Room Tip: We did not use the spa, but it is available for a fee.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for your detailed feedback about your stay with us. It is very rewarding for the whole team to hear a positive opinion from another hotelier. If I should focus on one very important aspect of your review, I would point out especially the fact that mission of the hotel – to make every single guest feel welcome in a very personal way and provide them with a home away from home – is acknowledged and appreciated by our visitors. We are very pleased about this and it works as a beacon for us to follow in the future. Please do contact me directly during your next visit with us – it would be my pleasure to welcome you personally.

Kind regards,

This hotel is a must-stay! As part of our planned "road trip" around central Europe we decided to replace a one-night stop in Vienna with one in Bratislava based on suggestions from friends. After reading the many positive reviews of this hotel, and communicating directly with their most helpful and responsive Front Office Manager regarding some special arrangements, I booked instead for two nights -- I felt certain that this was going to be something special.

We could not have been more pleased. The hotel is lovely -- beautifully designed and decorated and impeccably maintained. I has all the amenities you would expect and evidences an attention to details we noticed and appreciated. While not a large hotel with extensive facilities, we did not find anything lacking. The dining room was particularly comfortable, with excellent food and service, and having an on-site parking garage was a real plus in central Bratislava.

But the most exceptional attribute of this hotel is its staff. From check-in to check-out, every person we dealt with evidenced a sincere interest in making our stay a wonderful one. They are very proud of their hotel, and their city, and were both attentive to requests and generous to offer, and execute, suggestions for our time. We felt so comfortable with them that we turned over one day's plans to them -- an all-day tour to the surrounding countryside and a symphony performance that evening. It was a great day.

Their assistance even continued after we left. My companion had something delivered incorrectly to this hotel rather than to our next hotel in Prague; the staff made all of the arrangements to over-night this to us and to keep us informed.

My thanks to everyone at Marrols. I will go out of my way to return again. Ron Klar

We started a trip to central Europe in Bratislava and decided to stay here based in part on Trip Advisor reviews. The hotel is in a quiet area just a few minutes walk from the old town. From the street, the hotel is a bit unprepossessing, the public spaces are very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the quiet bar near the reception desk for after-dinner drinks. The room itself was small but comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the sleep quality was excellent. We do not expect large rooms in in-town European hotels, so were not disappointed. Our room looked into a small interior courtyard, so no view, but even if we had been on the other side of the building, the view would not have been much to look at anyway as the immediate neighborhood is largely residential with the buildings appearing to be of fairly recent construction with little charm. The room was clean, as was the bathroom, which was fully modern and functioned well. Expect to bathe and not shower, as is typically the case in many European hotels. Housekeeping staff were helpful in responding to a request we made. We only ate at the hotel for breakfast, which was lovely each morning, a full spread of eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, etc., all included in the price of the room. The highlight here is the service. The porters/doormen were friendly and very helpful. The dining room staff at breakfast was efficient and friendly. The bar man, who had doubled on the day of our arrival as a door man, was delightful. Special kudos, however, to the woman at the reception desk for most of our stay. She went out of her way to be helpful in addressing a variety of situations, most importantly helping to address an unanticipated medical situation on the first day of our visit. She called a medical clinic and secured an appointment on a Sunday for us. No left-over hint of surly communist influence at this hotel. The staff were fabulous and well-versed in English (our Slovak being limited to hello and thank you). Bratislava is a nice city with a few things to see. It is not on a typical US tourist agenda, but it is worth a day or two. If you go, you can do no better than to stay at Marrol's.

We stayed on a scouting trip to look for accomodation.
The room was well appointed and bed very confortable.
Although the room is a good size, it was a little tight with a cot set up but not sure the hotel can do much about that...

The restaurant served really excellent food which we really enjoyed.

Staff were helpful at all times and it is close to the centre of town.

We spent a fantastic 5 nights in this hotel and it was just brilliant. From our arrival (2 hours before check in) the complimentary drink, they even had our room ready and a staff member brought up our luggage. He went through everything in the room with us and really left us feeling we could ask them for help with anything should the need arise. The free mini bar was lovely, topped up every day. There was white wine (3/4 bottle size) diet coke, coke, water still and sparkling x2, beer and a grape non alcoholic drink with nuts. We went to the spa also -€70 for 2 hours but it was luxurious. You have the spa to yourselves (up to a group of 6 I think) and again, free mini bar with fruit also. The breakfast was great with the most gorg homemade croissants. The service was so personal. The reception staff were very help full with all queries and even booked another restraint in town for us, got us taxis when we needed it, looked up train times etc. there is free wifi through out the hotel and the tv channels were great with satellite over 150 channels.
We were sad to depart marolls, but will highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Bratislava! It is only about 7/8 ,min walk to the old town centre.
Thanks!!!

We recently stayed at this hotel for three nights and had a great time. The service was excellent and the receptionist even found me a socket for my mobile phone charger (as the one I had didn't fit properly) late at night. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The breakfast was good with a choice of hot and cold food and drinks, even fizzy wine on offer. The TV had a choice of several English speaking channels which makes a change from the usual news channel you get in some hotels. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillows and cushions. Would definately recommend this hotel as we could not fault it.
