Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava
Ranked #34 of 93 Hotels in Bratislava
Reviewed October 17, 2013

just back from a short city break to Bratislava. we stayed at the Park Inn Danube - right in the centre of the old town, near the castle and St Martin's Cathedral. The rooms are big and comfortable if a little dated. The staff all spoke English and were very helpful - arranging cheap taxis back tot the airport at the end of our stay. The breakfasts were especially good, with lots of choice - fresh fruit, dried fruit nuts & seeds, cheeses, salami ham and chorizo, boiled eggs, cereal, 3 types of bread plus pastries and croissants. hot food was bacon, sausage scrambled egg, mushrooms and tomato, or you could request omelettes with any filling, which were quite excellent. Soya milk was available on request and a good range of hot teas, coffees and juices. The pool was (as mentioned in other reviews) uniformly deep at around 1.3 metres - great for swimming, but not so good for children. Some of the rooms were a little noisy on Saturday night, when the nightclub located on the ground floor adjacent to the hotel stayed busy until the small hours. Access to the castle. cathedral, central square and all of the old town was very easy walking up quaint cobbled streets. We ate out every night and drank at Bar 17, just across street so can't comment on any other food at the hotel. Altogether a great hotel for a short break

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room ask for one facing the central courtyard

Have just returned from Bratislava and had an enjoyable stay. Hotel as already mentioned is slightly worn, however, rooms are a good size and clean. Staff very pleasant and efficient, we had problems with our room safe, within minutes were at our door. Breakfast very good, with plenty of choice. Hotel next to Bus Station where you can go to Vienna for 12 Euros, get off at Bus Terminal (VIB) cross road to Underground and for another 2.40 get into Vienna Stephansplatz within minutes. Train on right hand side.;
Bar 17 is across and further down from hotel, good beer and meals are also good and great value. Also try ice cream shop next door, lovely coffee and gateaux. Scottish Bar had a very good band playing on Saturday night.
If looking for a peaceful and relaxing City Break then this is the place to come, 2 nights is enough if not going to Vienna.

This hotel was perfectly placed to explore Bratislava. It was reasonably priced and perfectly adequate. Breakfast was great with lots of choice. Easily reached by bus & tram from the airport at a cost of .90Euro a bargain. Bus trip to Vienna highly recommended at a cost of 12 Euros return from the Bus station just across the road from the hotel.

This hotel provided a perfect base for a family trip to Bratislava. On the doorstep of the wonderful old town while also within 50m of the Danube and the bus stop to both Vienna and Bratislava airports. Very good value especially if the vast breakfast is included. The views from the castle are well worth of the trip up. A perfect stay!

Have just returned from a 4 night stay here. Cost 18Euro in a taxi from the airport. Arrived to a very helpful reception staff, easy check in and maps available on the desk of the city.
Stayed in room 388 which was large and spacious and was also an interconnecting room as was a locked door in the middle. Bathroom was a good size so not quite sure why the toilet was separate. The double bed was one that pulled down from the wardrobe so was a bit creaky. We had 2 windows in the room, one looking ti the castle and one to the river and ufo. We were looking over the road but wasn't disturbed by noise.
As per previous reviews it would be unfortunate to have a room covered by the big kia advert, I think the hotel is maybe sponsored/affiliated with Kia as they had a big conference on whilst we were there.
Breakfast was adequate with all the usual breakfast items.
Yes the carpets are stained in the corridors and the hotel could do with a spruce up but doesn't detract from your stay as it's only a base really.
We did hear from a tour guide the hotel is planning on having a revamp and changing the rooms into apartments in the next year.
Hotel is in a great location to reach all points of the city.
Thoroughly enjoyed Bratislava, we visited all major sites, Vienna and did 2 tours the one on the red bus and also the post communist tour in the old Skoda.
All local people we met were extremely helpful and friendly as well as all the staff in the hotel.
Wouldn't hesitate in recommending Bratislava as it is such a quiet and compact city that is still up and coming in the popularity stakes but I imagine this will change in a few years as it gets more visitors.

The location is the best in town, right by the SNP bridge and the old town. Noise form traffic, but knew about this before booking. Hotel is fine, as others have written, somewhat dated and very chain hotel. Shower excellent, bed linen OK, polycotton rather then pure cotton, towels adequately large. Breakfast good, as others have noted - not top notch but absolutely acceptable from a hotel of this standard. Bizarrely, room not serviced on day 2, out from 9.15-3.00, back briefly for change and shower, out again until 6.30, still not serviced. Not a huge prob but indicative of less than top-notch service standards. At the price, can't complain, but some failings in supposedly 4 star quality. Would stay here again - yes, at a similar website discount price, not at full rack rate.

Arranged via a package deal, included breakfast is varied. Rooms clean of a good size and although carpets were slightly stained as mentioned previously it's not so much that it detracts from the room. Our room has a nice view of the castle and is highly recommended for a short break.
