“Another good place to see in Bratislava near old town”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

This is just a few minutes walk from old town. We were there when there the water was overflowing due to the recent flooding in Europe but we were still able to walk around the area since they got police and barriers on standby.
A great structure to see, quite different since it is part of the bridge and to think that this structure was created in the 70s making the design more fascinating (I mean because it is not really new :))

“Novy Most: The bridge where you see the UFO Tower/Observation Deck in Bratislava”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

Interestingly, Novy Most (New Bridge), which crosses the Danube River, isn't actually new at all, having been constructed in the late 1960s to early 1970s.

Apparently it is the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world to have one pylon and one cable-stayed plane but it seems to be most famous for hosting the oddly shaped structure, locally known as the UFO Tower and Observation Deck. There is a restaurant at the top of the structure as well, although we didn't visit during our stay in Bratislava.

We best enjoyed views of the bridge and observation deck from the Bratislava Castle area, which afforded nice vantage points of both structures. As the city center is quite small, you are bond to see the bridge and the UFO structure at some (if not many) points during your visit to the city.

“Fantastic view and Restaurant”
Reviewed May 15, 2013 via mobile

The lift up one of the supports of the impressive bridge tower costs 6.50 euros and you then walk up to the observation tower which gives great, if windy, views of the city, telescope is free. There is a restaurant and bar which is a little expensive but worth it for the views and if you are a gentleman, the toilet experience is equally memorable ! You have to try to see what I mean.

“Worth the effort”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

The view from the observation platform is well worth the effort. The day we were there it was very windy but it did not spoil the whole experience of the views you had from such a vantage point.

“Put it somewhere else”
Reviewed May 4, 2013

I've no objection to this kind of Sputnik socialist modernity but the carve up that preceded the building of this bridge and its approach road split the old town in two, leaving the castle approaches abandoned and lifeless.
