It was my second stay in DoubleTree Bratislava and I was absolutely impressed by both the property itself and the service they offer.
The hotel is a bit out of the touristic city center of Bratislava but no worries, Bratislava is relatively small and is well served by public transportation. I actually loved the location of the hotel as it is only 10 minutes by bus 61 from the Main Station (this bus connects the Main Station with Bratislava's M.R. Stefanik airport) and again around 10 minutes from the Old Town by bus and tram. (The best routing is, I think: Take any bus or even trolley-bus to Trnavské Myto than change to a tram goes to Postová or Kapucinská and you are right at the Old Town, a very easy and smooth ride!)
The hotel building is both from outside and inside a very modern one, it's really worth a look around, see the photos attached, the outside has a bit of modern-style Hundertwasser feeling, I loved it.
The rooms are super clean, tidy and nicely decorated, if you arrive in the evening, the bedroom is really welcoming and prepared for a good night's sleep. The room has all the facilities and tools, you ever needed: a free and fast wireless and wired internet connection, a nice HD TV set with ca. 50 channels in around 10 languages (including Chinese and Korean), coffee and tea facility with good quality coffee, plenty of places to pack out your belongings, a safe, great toiletries in the bathroom (Crabtree&Evelyn Citron), separate bathtub and shower and countless fluffy towels. Everything is in very good condition, one can see that the management is taking care of the small but important details. The whole room has a very welcoming and warm feeling, it is hard to leave it when you have to finish your trip and return home. The suites have an added small but nicely decorated living room, it's worth the extra money if you need more space.
The breakfast is served in the Opus restaurant just opposite the elevators, again, you can get anything you wish: they offer nice variety of yogurts, cereals, hot and cold dishes, salads, fruits, etc., one should stay at least two weeks to try them all. The nice touch is that you can try some great Slovak specialties among the usual breakfast items, like Parenica (a smoked cheese), Liptauer and apple pie, Central European cheese cake on the sweet side.
The staff is definitely one of the best I met in Europe, all the members are very nice, polite, helpful and try to do anything to make your stay comfortable and stress-free. They do speak excellent English and German and always have a few minutes for you to give you an advice or just have a chat.
The DoubleTree Bratislava has a lovely, crystal clean pool area with dry and steam saunas, workout machines, a great place to unwind after a long day. Try to have a swim in the evening (the pool is open from 10 am to 10 pm), the colored lights will give you a very relaxing feeling and will help you to ease your mind.
Overall, I would 100% recommend the DoubleTree Bratislava to all the people, who wish to spend some nice time in the "Little Big City". It is a very nice and well managed hotel and the staff makes it even a better one.
