“Don't be put off by the gang-plank and the empty looking boat....”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

After a week in Brat I needed a curry and stumbled across Krishna by accident walking along the river (it is about 5 mins from the bottom of town) 'upstream'. At first glance it looked empty (a long gang-plank to Botel (it is a restaurant and hotel) - but I texted the wife in the UK to check out the reviews and gave it a go.
It is good value - I paid €30 for a starter, chicken side dish, chicken main, rice and garlic bread and 4 large beers.
I did ask them to 'spice it up' (previous reviews said it was a bit bland) - but it was still not spicy enough - I wouldn't go as far to say bland, but if you are like me and want a bit of heat and kick, you really need to stress the point.
The waiting staff were a bit grumpy - I was the only one in the indoor restaurant, but the food and beer was good. Well worth a visit especially to be sat on the river watching the world go by.

“enjoy indian cousine with Danube river view!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Most people from Slovakia tried indian cousine abroad. But this is perfect occasion to enjoy indian cousine in the capital city of Slovak Republic. Resaturant is situated on the ship(botel) on Danube river. Simply furnished, reasonable priced and with wide variety of tasty indian meals. You can also enjoy meals from tandoori oven. If I compare this place to other indian restaurants around the world, this is surely above avorage.

“spiceless Indian and pokerfaced waiter”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

It could have been such a nice visit and the name of reminiscence of the real Indian food.. cool location in a botel, on the Danube river, up to 5 min walking from the "UFO" bridge, and our hopes went even higher when we saw the Indian staff at the reception and restaurant. Not for long, though, as the waiter was polite, but never gave us even a slightest smile, not talkative at all, very stiff. The interior decor was ok, but expected more colourful/sparkly style, but I take it they tned it down for a European taste, just like they did with the food. And this is where they lost 1 point in my grading. There was no sign of spices. The food was tasty, the texture, oiliness and design was Indian, but it lacked spiciness. we could handle a slightly hot meal, after all. So was the masala tea (ok, in menu it said something like "indian tea /with milk", but all it was / the classic english tea). no masala spices, again. that was a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise, the basmati rice and naan bread up to Indian standards.

“For their sakes I hope this was an "off" night!”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

To all seasoned curry lovers, and those seeking to discover the magic of Indian cuisine, Botel Restaurant Krishna offers hope ONLY of shuddering disappointment as you will EVENTUALLY be served (from whatever fragments of their menu may be available to you - unbelievably, just chicken dishes during my visit) clay-cold, insipid, spiceless food by waiting staff so unfriendly and indifferent it borders on embarrassing. Little wonder then, on an evening when Bratislava's graffiti-riddled mews were awash with spend-crazy revellers, mine was the only table occupied at 8pm on New Year's Eve. If it is at all true that people vote with their feet, I very strongly suggest you do the same and abandon all interest in this restaurant as effectively as the owner.
