We were totally satisfied with Villa Medici, and we would recommend it to anybody, who would like to spend some time in Veszprém.
Staff is very friendly, professional, and helpful.
Their kitchen is prime quality! We send our greetings to the chef for putting a piece of his heart and soul into the dishes, he prepared. Their headwaiter was very kind and professional.
They made this weekend for us a memory one of a kind!
If you have a chance, have your meal in the garden, next to the small pond, they have.
The wellness of Villa Medici is really refreshing and restful. The pictures on their website doesn't give you back the ambient, it has. It is much more better, than what we expected.
The room was nice, and comfy.
Their breakfast is excellent.

Room Tip: pick rather a superior room

Been here for a one night stay, and was pleasantly surprised by the suroundings. Almost like a mountain retreat, very cosy, quiet.
Room was OK, quite spacy, nothing special. The noise insulation was not the best, but there was not much noise.
Restaurant is OK, the garden is quite nice. Food was good, but we could not get the bill, due to some technical problem (was delivered to the room later on).
The two downturns were the pub which was closed at 11:00 PM, and the wellness area which looks much bigger in the pictures then in reality (we had no place to sit or lay when we arrived).

Will try another place if we are back in town.

Room Tip: Try to have a view towards the parking lot, you might have a better view (not too many cars, nice pa...

From the restaurants to the front desk, and all the staff in-between, the Villa personnel are kind, helpful, willing to go the extra distance to make your stay the best possible. The food was absolutely delicious - cheers to the chef and his staff, truly. Even the simple meal was prepared and presented with culinary flare and creativity. My massage was excellent, the sauna area clean and quiet. I enjoyed my stay immensely.

We spent five days in this hotel to rest. The hotel is the best possible impression on us, everything was perfect. The environment of hotel excellent, the park perfectly maintained. It offers high-quality furnishings, stylish and elegant. The staff is extremely courteous. It should be stated in the restaurant and the food quality. The wellness area is truly "the island of calmness". Congratulations to the management and staff alike.

While the atmosphere and decor is not my favorite the food is the real star. This is delicious upscale dining at affordable prices. Every dish was perfect and even the bread was very flavorful. My family and I have been living in Hungary for awhile and tried many restaurants but this in terms of food quality and presentation is the best.

Pros
- staff is very friendly and has a 'can do' attitude to all guest requests
- location is good if you're traveling with kids, it's a short walk to the zoo
- both restaurants are amongst the top choices in Veszprem

Cons
- interior is outdated compared to what you'd expect for this price
- queen sized bed has 2 mattresses and the only thing they can do about it is put in an extra piece of foam between them to 'close the gap'
- rooms were cold and we were offered a Tesco heater to warm it up, not other opportunities exist

Room Tip: Don't go to the basement, rooms 01, 02, 03

Veszprém is located by the lake Balaton (it is approx.. 100 km from Budapest). If you visit the region the restaurant of Hotel Villa Medici is probably the best one in the region.
It is very elegant and puts a lot of attention on the quality. You can choose a menu with several courses or choose a’ la cart.
I was there during the autumn, and it was not at all full with people. I am sure it is more busy during the summer. This place would be more famous if it was in Budapest for sure.
