“Szentendre hidden gem”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Szentendre offers a lot of hidden attractions and the best is Margit Kovacs Ceramic Museum.
It is hidden behind the main square but worth looking for it.
Amazing display of ceramic artworks made in the 50's & 60's.
They don't allow taking pictures inside.... what a pity.

“A highlight of a visit to Szentendre,”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

I always enkoy a visit to Szentendre since I am an expat living in Budpest.
I had seen her work in many galleries so a visit to this museum was a must for me...and I was certainly not disappointed..
The examples one sees in the museum one will rarely see in galleries...
It is an absolute joy to be so close to this wonderful artist...
She is utterly unique ...
Szentendre is an artists community and remindned me of the ceramacists who inhabit St Ives in Cornwall in the UK...

My wife and I had a day with nothing planned and signed up for a tour of Szentendre. The town is a jewel. We went to the Margit Kovacs Museum. It was fabulous as was her works. This town an artist colony had so much to offer even though it was a rainy day.Had lunch in a little restaurant and the people could not be friendlier..Many interesting shops .It turned out to be a great day despite the weather.

“An unexpected delight”
Reviewed December 3, 2012

Sventendre was a sweet little artist community. I had not heard of Margit Kovacs, and really was not a fan of ceramics, until I visited her museum. She gave her pieces such emotion. They could bring laughter or a tear to your eye (i.e. Mother & Daughter). I wish they would have let us take pictures or have postcards of her work. A truly memorable visit!

“Lovely museum even for those who are not fans of ceramics”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

To call Margit Kovacs a ceramicist minimizes her extraordinary work. This museum is on a side street, easy to find from the central square in Szentendre. Kovacs work spans a surprising number of motifs and techniques. I especially loved her sculptures of people, which sung with emotion.
