Reviewed November 17, 2012 via mobile

In November 2012 we arrived at the hotel for a weekend sightseeing trip. Based on previous experience we chose this hotel. the hotel is a perfect choice for a short weekend. good location. close to the city center. Rooms are modern. choose deluxe room. ask for the city discount card at the reception desk
the only problem was that it did not fill the mini bar and the empty beer cans were not taken either during the day

We stayed for one night but will return. Good location, spacious and clean rooms, Wifi, air conditioning (altough not very powerful). Parking was available right outside the hotel, and the main shopping street in Pecs was just a few minutes walk away. The young lady at the reception was extremely helpful.

I saved the best for last... We decided to stay in and eat in the hotel restaurant as we were both tired. The food was a huge surprise as it was fabolous! We expected some standard Hungarian fare and we had a beautiful meal that was Hungarian but with a gourmet twist. The gulyas was the best I ever had ( and I was born in Hungary) The wine list was full of modern day award winning wines - the one we picked at random was exceptionate. We were the only guests in the restaurant that evening as it was august holiday time, so it was lucky that we didn't draw our conclusions from that. Highly recommended.

The staff was very helpful and spoke English very well.  The location was fantastic as it was only a couple blocks
from the main walking street. We did have some rain one evening and they were happy to provide umbrellas.
Breakfast was a buffet. It was good and the chef was happy to make fresh eggs upon request. We ate at the restaurant a couple of times (outside of breakfast) and the food was very good. We stayed Saturday & Sunday nights. There was no house keeping during during our stay. The AC was not able to cool our room and so it was too warm. The mattress was two singles pushed together & while
this is common in Europe, the bed was very hard & separated during the night. There was no shampoo, lotion or soaps provided in the bathroom, just a liquid dispenser that was mostly water. No robes, no wash clothes and only two towels for two people was not four star service.
The room rate was high for the area but we wanted 4 star and luxury,
If these things were improved, then maybe it would have been better.

The bedroom was very modern and quite spacious however the airconditioning was quite ineffective for the size of the room. Breakfast was good. The hotel staff were helpful and assisted us in hiring a car. Distance from the centre of town a 10 minute walk.

This is a lovely, well run, modern clean hotel with a contemporary design.

We had already stayed here last November and this was our only choice for Pecs. I reckon that it is one of the best..if not the best in Pecs. The location is very good...a mere 3 minute walk to the start of Kiraly Street which is the main street in the pedestrian zone of the really lovely old town. So a pleasant stoll of about 8 minutes to bars/cafes/restaurants/shops.

Fast friendly check in and straight to our (superior) room. The corridors are lovely...quite unusual but bright and warm! The room is big, bright and don't worry.....no noise intruding from the road right outside. The bathroom was spotless, modern with toiliteries and good towels. Strong shower which is essential theses days.

Breakfast was just about fine...a little below average for a 4 star. I would like if they had better breads, some coissants, better jams, more choice for yoghurts and cereals. Chef will crisp up your bacon and fry hot eggs if you ask.

Breakfast is taken in Bistro 48 which to me does not have a restaurant feel at all to it. The design of this area is terrible. There is just too much going on around to have a quite meal with athmosphere. In our 4 nights in Pecs we did not eat here. Yet...on our last visit we did once and the food was very good indeed. The hotel, in my opinion, would do far better if they reorganise the restaurant/bar/corridor. What a pity the designer did not have the restaurant out by the big windows.

We like the Corso and would for sure stay again and recommend.

Room Tip: Careful if parking on the road. You can park right outside the hotel but anywhere else you need a ti...

we stayed here in early March for 3 days while on business at the university. I'd say it is a very adequate 4 star hotel for business visits. the rooms are modern, well designed, a good size, clean, have excellent WiFi and seem quiet. Lacking in ambience like any business hotel. Staff are always helpful but apart from the front desk, have very little understanding of English e.g. what tap water or a cheese only sandwich (no meat) is. Downside is the undersupply of menu choice, especially bar snacks, but the Elephant cafe is only a few minutes walk away and the food there is very good, which seems quite unusual in Pecs.

We were on a quick weekend break in the region, and this hotel proved to be a perfect choice. It is a brand new property (2010) with excellent interior design, spacious rooms, great breakfast, great bathroom and amenities. Also great value for money.

It is pretty easy is to get there by car, you have an indoor parking (chargeable) but on weekends you can park for free on the nearby streets.

The hotel is 5 minutes walking from Pecs city's main attractions and historical center.

I can only recommend this property for anyone staying in Pecs for business or leisure or just visiting the nearby attractions like Busojaras in Mohacs, Harkany or the Villany wine region.

Room Tip: Rooms on different floors have different design elements. Check the hotel web page and if you have a...
