“Low meals for great price”
Reviewed October 30, 2011

Once we stopped there to eat something but it was the last time. Inside the place looks not bad if you enjoy the wiev of stuffed dead animals. Me personally it was a little horroristic. The waitress was a noisy and nasty persona, first she tried to seat us in the middle of the room, in front of the kitchen doors. Than she brought the menu and a wagon of palinka (so called hungarian friut brandy) without asking if we want it. We asked her recommendations about the dishes, but it was a fault. She so shoutingly started to rewiev the menu, that it was inconvenient for us. Finally we choosed a soup ragu with venison and a mixed venison plate. All the meals were too salty and spicy that I have a doubt that it was made from venison. But the price was accordingly high, we paid for soup and a main dish per person 20 Eur including one glass of vine. Drinking water wasn't served, but the bread served was not fresh.
I do recommend this restaurant to all who want a full stomach burning.

“A Hungarian Supper Club”
Reviewed October 12, 2011

This Restaurant is located between Heviz and Keszthely and has a small animal park .We were here on on a Monday night and were seated immediately. The waiter then wheeled over a cart with about 20 different kinds of schnapps and glasses but we all declined.

We had 4 entree's for dinner: Goose breast with onion mashed potatoes and red cabbage, Beef, pork and chicken robbers (flaming kabobs) with fried potatoes and salad, a vegetable risotto, and piked perch with onion mashed potatoes and a tomato, onion and garlic salad.

All four meals were excellent and the service was very good. The decor reminded me of a rustic Hungarian Inn.

“Such a welcoming place...”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

I had been to Vadaskert many times. First of all, the staff is so kind, polite and helpful. Before the meal they offering a huge variety of appetizing snaps without request. If you not driving, it's worth to taste.
The interior is decorated like a hunters inn, there are so many hunting trophies on the walls.
The major profile of the restaurant is game, like Boar, venison, deer with various sauces. You can also have here pheasant and quail which is unusual in hungarian restaurants. But of course you can find usual meals in the menu, the variety of foods are huge. At the weekends there used to be live gipsy music in the restaurant.

I can recommend it to anyone, but on the other hand the restaurant is located at the very edge of the city between Keszthely and Hévíz, so you have to go by car there.

“Hungarian style game, wild boar, deer”
Reviewed July 16, 2011

Here they offer wild meat from game, wild boar, deer etc. They offer a huge variety of dishes. The food is decent, but with these excellent indigents it could have been much more sophisticated and tasty.
Service is good and you can experience Hungarian gipsy music. There is also a small play ground for children.
