Owner description: The lake of Hévíz is the biggest biologically active, natural medicinal water in the world. Its temperature is affected by the combination of cold and hot spring waters coming from underground. The medicinal water breaks out from the spring cave on the surface at the rate of approx. 410 litres per second and with a temperature of 40°C. According to that delivery, the water in the lake changes every three and a half days and keeps uniformly clean.

“Lake from the outside”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

The weather was rather cold and windy, so we did not risk bathing in the lake in the open air, as the water is just lukewarm.

i like the location, the park surrounding it...i also like the concept of beeing the largest lake of it's kind in europe...however i doubt it's medical properties...first of all the water in the lake it's not as hot as in other thermal lakes -temperature it's also very important in reaching some therapeutic effect on certain affections ; the lake has certain depth and a creepy feeling because of some kind of vegetation on it's bottom that you can fell with your legs when you swim...tha indoor facilities presume hotter watter...in general the location is clean , a little crowded , modern lockerroms but i think it still needs some work to be done...even if we stayed in Heviz for 4 days , we visited it only once and we were rather happy of the choice...however Heviz, we found it quiet , not many things to do arround and so, kind of boring for a 3 nights stay...

Reviewed April 7, 2014

Don't miss the Lake Area, nice for walkings, fresh air and flowers. Having swim/bath in the lake is a must at least once in a lifetime!
