“Best hotel-experience ever!”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

We went there with my fiancé a year ago, and we had a wonderful time there! The staff/owner lady/ was way beyond friendly: she made speacial meals for us, or we could try their new things. She was friendly, the rooms were clean and nice, and the whole place was just amazing- even if it was around wintertime. I recommended this place to all of my friends, and we are already planning to go back there :)

One of the friendliest hotels we've ever stayed in. Barbara and Sandor were very helpful and made us feel totally at home for our two night stay. Our attic room was rather on the small side for a couple of old 'uns and the bed rather low but it was comfortable and quirky. Kids would absolutely love this room. The food was hearty and plentiful and the buffet breakfast was first class. The surroundings were lovely wooded hills with plenty of walking to be enjoyed. I would imagine it gets quite busy in the Summer but our couple of days in October were superb. We would have no hesitation in returning. The friendly family dog needs a mention - he was a gorgeous friendly giant and I would have loved to take him home with me.

We had already a second romantic weekent at Nomad Hotel and decided to return regularly.
Beutiful nature arround, very calm and relaxing area.
Nice romantic rooms and the garden is the best relaxing place in the summertime with its pool and lounge furnished with old , elcetic and very comfortable furniture.
The collector has a realy good taste!
The hospitality of the „Nomad family” is excelent.
The breakfast is famous of its wide range of home made delicious food.
The dinner is just what „Klári néni” the mother and the shef cooks that day. This is always a surprise, but always very good.

Best place to sit and enjoy panorama with the glass of wine (or two) :-)

We will come back with the kids also. As the surounding area has a lot of program opportunities, such as visiting Eger of Szilvasvarad. The best is to attend on cultural or gastro programs organised within Noszvaj village.

We looked for a silent, nice, romantic place with a special atmosphere for our "without child" holiday. And we have found it. Nomád is in a beautiful nature enviroment, the buildings and the room are rustic with a lot of heart, unicaly special, and everything served our rest, our relaxing, our good feeling. The staff (members of one family) was kind and helpful, the atmosphere familiar. In the garden and in the terrases there are a lot of separate places to be alone or with one or some people to talk, to read, to sleep etc. Food is home made and very delicious, wine are selected from the best cellars from the region (Eger). The whole vilage is nice and friendly, a jewel in the Bükk's feet and Hotel Nomád is a real pearl on it. We have fallen in love with this place, we recommend it to anybody.

We visited the Bukk Hills last month on a birding trip to Hungary. We stayed at the Hotel Nomad and had a wonderful experience. Although the weather was lousy (rainy and cold) , Barbara and the staff at the Hotel made the trip worthwhile. Barbara arranged for a guided birding trip with Roy Clark, an expat British birder who lives in the area. He did a great job and helped save the birding part of the visit.
If you stay at the Hotel, I would suggest taking the meal option with your room. Barbara's mother is a gourmet chef and prepares great breakfasts and wonderful Hungarian dinners. We are vegetarians and she prepared meals for us that were traditional, delicious and meatless! Barbara's brother helped with an excellent selection of wines.
The camping was not open when we visiting, but it looked quite interesting: funky amenities and family oriented services. For English speakers visiting Hungary, this is a great place to stay. Barbara and her brother speak excellent English. The historic city of Eger is nearby and well worth visiting. For birders, it is a great base for visiting both the Bukk National Park and the nearby Lake Tisa and the Hortobagy. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: Would probably try for a room in the new building. It was not open during our visit.

I totally agree with the previous reviewers, this is the right place to stay when you are in the area. One of the best breakfast buffets I have ever experienced! Great dinners! The hospitality of the owners is truly exceptional. Even if the weather is a bit colder, you can find plenty of things to do either inside the hotel or outside. Children are most welcome, and they will never get bored there. T Don't forget your trout fishing rods since there are two nice little lakes with plenty of trouts!

Used as a regular base for birding in the Bukk Hills, this is near perfect. A lovely location, so friendly and helpfull and very comfortable. I thought it best we left after 3 days - the food is far too fantastic. Absolutely agree with the other reviews.
