Historical fortress from the past centuries.
Nice landscape over the town of Eger.
Excellent place for wine tasting. (try: Bull's Blood or St.Andrea's wine)
Tasty dishes and warm hospitality.

We had a guided tour of this castle and at a reasonable rate.
Half restored so you get the best of both worlds.
Gotta Go kinda place.

I visited this place with my two kids. They loved the castle museum, the illustration and walking on the bastillion. You can spend loads of time just by looking down the city of Eger, taking pictures of the landscape or wondering around. The old prison was a bit of scary for kids, especially with all the instruments of torture inside. Overall, good experience, however, it is a shame that some of the exhibitions are not included in the price of the entrance ticket.

It was a cool day and quiet early in the morning when I went to the castle. Cheap entrance fee. If yu have mobiliy issues this is not the placce for you. The views of Eger were beautiful ad you can just hang out and think about what it must have been like 1000 years ago.

The castle has played a well known (by all Hungarians) role in the country's history. It is worth a visit
