This is one of the cafes that we visited on our trip to Budapest. We ate outside in the lively Vorosmarty Square, but the incredible interior is worth a look as well. Prices are high, but the ingredients, their combinations and presentation are very and worth it for a special occasion. I had an iced cappuccino with ice cream and whipped cream, and my husband had one of their specials, which was an ice cream concoction that mimicked a Sacher torte--with apricot and chocolate--very rich, and probably more suited for sharing, with something lighter and more refreshing. We saw a young couple with a little girl eat an entire lunch there (not just drinks and desserts), and wondered how they could afford it; we can't imagine that it was anything but a special occasion. Our dessert diversion was pricey, but how often will we be in Budapest and have this opportunity? Splurge, if you can afford the prices and the calories!
