We had two wonderful lunches here where the duck breast and the lamb rack were superb. The hungarian wine choices even better. The Villanyi wines and the pinot noires were perfect. The desserts were enjoyable. We were four people and paid apprx USD 80 per person (three courses and a bottle of wine per person) which is a steal compared to our home country Norway.

After being 'welcomed' by our very surly waiter i was worried that i had made a terrible mistake booking Bock Bistro, but after a shaky start we had the most delicious dinner - I would be confident to say not far off Michelin standard. There was not a spare table in the room, and it was filled with a good combination of locals and visitors. I would highly recommend this hungarian restaurant, as many other trip advisor contributors have done too. You won't be disappointed...unless you are vegetarian! Also was shocked at what good value the dinner was (in comparison to what it would cost if we were in our home town of London) approx £75 for two people - which i imagine is expensive for Hungary but excellent!

The Bock Bistro isn't a place I would choose to go to for dinner routinely, but as a nice contrast to more traditional Hungarian fare I'd sure put it on my list for for a periodic visit. You can characterize this place is up-scale slightly nouveau Hungarian. Many dishes available are Hungarian standbys, but each comes with a nice presentation and a little something different. They are all well cooked, with sauces in particular first rate.

The Bock Bistro has a really wide range of interesting wines by the glass, allowing one to home in on something one likes without the risk of first committing to a bottle of something unknown.

Service is helpful and pretty quick for a place that is often quite busy.

Highly recommended

My wife and me visited to Budapest and booked a hotel next to the Oktagon Metro Station. We found this restaurant is just 3-5 mins walk to our hotel, comment on web site were so good therefore we decided to give a try..

Very impressed with the bread and "butter" at the beginning of th meal, the "Butter" made from pork Lard + Bacon + Herbs....this is excellent for bread lovers and we almost finished the whole basket breads before the starters arrive.

Starts were great and what we like the most were the PORK GOULASH which served with one whole piece of pork spare rib (really big one), soup is so clear but amazingly the taste was so strong and balanced!!!

We were almost 80% full after all breads, starters, soups....as a result we didn't want main course but went straight to desserts and again the desserts were not disappointed us and surprisingly good.

When we got the bill, we found it is not costly at all in view of the meal experience we had.

Lastly, please be reminded it 'll be good to make a early reservation as I wanted to reserve a table for another meal for Lunch/Dinner before we left Budapest ...I couldn't make it because all tables had gone!!

I would recommand this restaurant to anyone who visit Budapest.

We booked to have dinner in the Bock restaurant on the first night we were in Budapest as we were also staying at the Corinthia hotel. Was fairly packed so good thing we had contacted the concierge to pre-book as there was 5 of us. We had a variety of tapas which was excellent and some tiger prawns in garlic - wonderful. The wine was very good. We have a a good Sauv Blanc, and a Tokia wine, each about 4.5k HUFs. Very good service.

The only down side was that the accordion player was very near our table and it was slightly difficult to have a conversation. Other than that very good
